Like the Show, Gossip Girl's New Marketing is "Every Parent's Nightmare"

ggnasty.jpg

Remember Gossip Girl's tres provocative "OMFG" campaign from April, which kicked off the second part of the show's first season amidst a round of buzz, especially when the Parents Television Council got in a huff over The CW's marketing department insinutiating the word "fuck?"

Good news! More rebellious marketing materials for a show about teen sex, teen drinking, teen drug use, and teen wealth. And conservative groups are really going to hate the ones below.

That's really awful and inappropriate. It's a sad state our world is in.

I LOVE how they quoted the Parents Television Council in one of them.

Are they trying to get parents to block this show on their Comcast parental controls? I hope they don't screw themselves over too much.

Screw themselves over? Please. If parents really had a clue/gave a s*** and/or had some control over what the kids in this show's target audience were watching, the show wouldn't be such a hit in the first place.

Exactly, any parent who is worth a darn has ALREADY blocked this show and I don't think the out-of-touch parents are going to be suddenly more conscientious because of these ads. Sad, sad, sad…

Gawd, I agree with DLS, Gossip Girl isn't even as bad as the ad's, the add's don't really pop up on the channels that most parents' actually watch, and evn if they actually thought "Oh no, my kid's might watch this and it might like, destroy their souls, I have to block this" and they did, we could just watch this on youtube. you people really are prudes. I think itz really up 2 the watcherz of the show 2 decide if it's innapropriate.

Jeez, the show is just good fun. I think it's hilarious that they used those quotes! See folks? This is why the professionals turn out the hits and cry-baby's at the parent's-whatever-it's-called wish they could be successful tv writers, producers, are stars…screw 'em! I'll watch whatever the heck I want!
