OMG, huge news! The movie trailer for Sex and the City: The Movie is finally here! In honor of this extremely momentous occasion, we've decided to share our most visceral reactions with you, via live-blog! Our unfiltered thoughts…after the jump.
8:45am: "They say nothing lasts forever," intones the inexplicably successful sex columnist. "Dreams change. Trends come and go. But friendships never go out of style."
8:46am: This poignant observation is then punctuated by a series of rapid-fire shots (presumably because the movie's not finished?)
8:46am: Wait, it's text! "This Spring" reads the first slightly overdramatic placard.
8:46am: "Get Carried Away" adds a second. Wait, is that a double entendre? (If so, we totally get it!)
8:46am: And it's…Carrie, with an oversized flower in her hair, standing on the street! Carrie, clad only in her brassiere, standing precariously on a stepladder! Carrie again! This time, in…a wedding dress? No wait, it's just a photo shoot! And there's Miranda, looking on from the sidelines!
8:46am: Samantha, bidding in some sort of Sotheby's type auction! The girls, including Charlotte, who's also in this movie, sitting in a church pew (or maybe just a bleacher?) looking surprised. OMG, what the fuck just happened??
8:47am: Carrie and Big. On the street. Fully making out.
8:47am: Fin.
8:47am: Hang on, we're watching it again to get the full effect.
8:48am: Final thoughts! While it's rather skimpy on the dialog – okay, mainly just a montage of the "girls" (i.e. fortysomething year-old women) prancing around Manhattan in unrealistic street attire – we still give it two thumbs up.
One for the ingenious "Get Carried Away" bit (we love that!) and another for starting things off in typical SATC fashion: with over-the-top excitement, unwearable clothes and an annoying Carrie voiceover.
