A since-updated report today on Gawker speculated as to Lloyd Grove's future with the Daily News: Did the absence of his byline mean he's gone for good? His contract is up? Lowdown has gone down? Nah, he reported back. He's merely on holiday (much like Gatecrasher's Ben Widdicombe and Page Six's Paula Froelich, we're told).

After all, we're informed Lloyd's contract isn't up till the end of August. And no, it's not being renewed.
