The sky falling isn't the only noise being made inside MSNBC's halls. That drip-drip-drip into the cesspool of water collecting in amidst the rubble? It's Rachel Maddow, whose upcoming namesake show provides newspeg for a slew of profiles about the "accidental radio personality"-cum-television star. Two we managed to get through were Time's and the Boston Globe's. Not surprisingly, because Maddow is a woman, both had to comment on her physical appearance.
Doing TV, first on CNN with Tucker Carlson, then exclusively on MSNBC, Maddow at first showed jitters. She didn't look comfortable with the ludicrous compression of arguments, the need to drown out other guests to get a point across. The casual-garbed Maddow also felt awkward having to "dress like a Senator" on TV.
Then there's the Globe, which led not with Maddow's credentials, how she'll fit in as the only lady among a good old boy's club of pundits, nor her political leanings, but how she dresses:
When Rachel Maddow arrived at a local café one morning last week on behalf of the Air America affiliate that broadcasts her three-hour drive-time show in the Twin Cities, she was dressed for radio, with a loose-fitting V-neck T-shirt and thick-rimmed black glasses.
One of the hundreds of listeners who patiently waited in line to meet Maddow came with an offering: a "Give Peace a Chance" lapel pin that she hoped Maddow would sport on her MSNBC television show. "I won't wear jewelry" on the air, Maddow said, apologetically affixing the pin to a corner of her shirt, near her waist. "I don't want to start a cascade of things I can't control."
Also: Both mention she's gay. Which is worth noting only because, had neither mentioned her sexual orientation, we would've probably complained about it.

if she's gay ,so WHAT!,she,s SMART!
Not just smart!!Very, very smart and would be even if she weren't a Rhodes scholar..The only 'political pundit' who makes me laugh..
