"People at ABC News control their own destiny," says Robert Iger on why ABC passed on securing a deal with CNN to outsource the network's news gathering, while CBS might jump at the opportunity.
Rather than move forward with a plan CNN wanted – that would've had the Time Warner outfit substitute for nearly all of ABC News' operations – Iger was interested in a "true joint venture." You know, one where Barbara Walters could continue pontificating with celebrities without any overshadowing from Anderson Cooper and his ilk.
