Mostly Ignorable Updates from the Times

New, unimportant information from the Times fancy-slash-sterile new offices today.

First, they've got a new blog! In addition to politics, finance, wine, and we're-not-sure-what, now Sulzberger's clan is blogging books. In Paper Cuts, NYT Book Review senior editor Dwight Garner is going to do something about all those galleys sitting on his desk. Or ramble on about some aspect of the sorry state of affairs in the industry. Either! Or! (Our first impression: The earnest first-effort is, actually, a sign of bad things to come.)

Meanwhile, the Times's fashion magazine, T, is going global y'all — and by "global" we mean European and Middle Eastern. Courtesy distribution from the NYT's worldly and ignored cousin the International Herald Tribune, T editor Stefano Tonchi will find himself a whole readership interested in Japanese bartenders who only use ice buckets that are handmade.
