That Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann continue playing both hard news anchor and opinionated talking heads is of no consequence to NBC News president Steve Capus. Responding to taunts from Fox News' Chris Wallace made earlier this week at the Television Critics Association annual event, Capus told MSNBC's audience he has no plans to change the formula, where his star power pundits anchor news coverage like elections while going on the air every night to deride the right wing. Says Olbermann: "We know there are different rules for us, and the viewers — I think based on how many of them have turned out — know there are different rules."
And Capus agrees: "The audience gets it, and that’s the single biggest factor that I see."
Hey, remember when a certain other left-leaning institution thought their audience would "get it"?
Oh, right.

Matthews and Olbermann are two first degree idiots. Capus has his head up his ass, as usual, and one of these days he extract it long enough to realize that cable viewers are tired of the MSNBC crap. The entire lineup, except Joe Scarborough, is totally in the tank for Obama.
I finally had to delete MSNBC off my TV - between the anti-Hillary rants from Matthews and Olbermann to the constant Obama ball-licking, it's turned into a caricature of it's former self.
Both Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann have to be two of the biggest dicks in the world with egos to match. Life is so much nicer now that I don't have to listen to their rants and tirades.
What oh what will they do if their Messiah does not win in November?
I'm watching Chris right now. I love him and Keith and watch them every day. Why are they chosen to bash because of their left slant when it is no different than O'Reilly and his ilk on Fox? We watch who mirrors our views. As for Morning Joe-I can only handle it when Joe is off and Mika runs it! Joe is irritating, talks over everyone and doesn't show any respect to Mika and she is his co-host! Can't stand this loud mouth.
Are you really THAT stupid Just me? The answer isn't to remake MSNBC into the liberal version of Faux. The problem is that both networks have decided to cast away any pretensions of journalistic integrity to basically operate as mouthpieces for the political parties. It's wrong. At least Fox properly labels their commentators while MSNBC is still trying to claim Olbermann is a news anchor. Wrong on all counts.
JamaBama has it right regarding Fox vs MSNBC. I'd rather watch Fox knowing that they are openly slanted instead of pretending to be objective. Regarding "just me" comment about Mika…..I can't stand her constant cackling and her fawning and drooling over Obama…what an airhead. It's hard to believe she is related to her father…..he has a brain. The best part about Morning Joe is when he puts Mika in her place.
lol @ Tony . . …tell it ! . … & Just, yeah, Scarborough is insufferable . . .hard to believe in this day + age that chauvinist/bully is an actual co-anchor ! . . .man, they musta really put some serious zeros on Mika's contract for her to suffer that jackass willingly every weekday morning of her life . ..
Anyone who would like Fox over MSNBC must love watching ignorant asses (Fox) lacking in intelligence, making fools of themselves. They continually get the facts wrong and become shrill when someone criticizes their candidate. Bill O'Reilly, there's a bright pennny. Most of their followers are racists, chauvinists and gun toting hillbillys. Olbermann is not impartial because his show is an editorial not a news show. People need to know the difference. At least he counters his arguments with facts and logic, unlike the Big Brother double speak from FOX news.
Mark:
>IYOUOLBERDORK< doesn;t seem to know it- or much else for that matter. He think's he's the second coming of Edwin R. Murrow. In truth. Olby couldn't carry Murrow's legal pad.
MSNBC has absolutely zero intellectual honesty because it purposefully blurs the lines between "journalist" and "pundit". They could learn a lesson from FNC- Hannity is a pundit, Hume a journalsit and seldom do the two interset. And that's exactly as it should be.
As for FNC being "biased"….if by "bias" you mean willing to see and report on both the Liberal and Conservative side of the issue, then yeah I guess they're guilty as charged. FNC judges; MSNBC prejudges.
But the best news is that, as is evidenced by their ratings, no one notices MSNBC's idiocy. If MSNBC really mattered to anyone other than KOSsacks and DUmmies, I'd be more worried.
Ecce_Veritas:
I suggest you look up "biased" in the dictionary. You'll find Fox fits that definition. As for the ratings, CNN is the highest and Fox has the ratings because all the fear mongering right wingers flock to one network where as everyone else is not afraid to hear differing opinions from varied sources. The ratings are changing though.
"During the first three weeks of June, MSNBC's prime-time weeknight audience was up 85 per cent over last year within that group, according to Nielsen Media Research. CNN was up 29 per cent and Fox was down 1 per cent during the same period. MSNBC was within striking distance, fewer than 10,000 viewers on average, of second-place CNN" http://jam.canoe.ca/Television.....31-ap.html
No big deal. It's not like anyone watches MSNBC. A 3 a.m. infomercial about colon cleansing gets better ratings than most of what MSNBC regurgitates.
