Much Like Your Holiday Call To Grandma, Ron Paul Is Phoning It In
call it a day

Running for president is exhausting, and Ron Paul is ready for his nap. But the libertarian candidate is sticking out until Super Tuesday, if only because he has to:

"Nobody would understand if I faded out before Feb. 5," he told the AP yesterday.

Ok, so his insane supporters would be disappointed if he quits before Super Tuesday, but we would understand. Why maintain the pretense of a candidacy?

The Ron Paul movement is going to change the face of politics for years to come. But we know you're not about real journalism, just sitting on your brains and taking easy cheap shots.

"Why maintain the pretense of a candidacy?"

Maybe because it's not a pretense.
Maybe because of his uptrend in the polls.
Maybe because of his $18 million quarter (so far)
Maybe because he's the only candidate with motivated support.
Maybe because his "revolution" is the story of 2007-2008.
Maybe because even you will benefit from this revolution.

Haha. You gave me a nice laugh. I'm not going to sit here and get into a debate about Dr. Paul or try to convenience you to support his candidacy.

I'm not sure why you are implying that "we" think it's ok if Dr. Paul drops out. I'm not sure who "we" is.

I do know that Jossip has called the Iraq debacle a "civil war" at the following post. Obviously, 'we' want out of the war since it's been so disastrous. Who exactly do 'we' endorse that will help accomplish this?

I've read many posts on this site about our distaste for taxes. Hollywood insiders are being force by the IRS to claim their gift bags are taxable. Ron Paul would eliminate these taxes that we dislike so much. Don't you remember?

I thought we were concerned with transparency with our Government officials and Media personalities.

What exactly do 'we' stand for? I'm confused as for months you've talked one way but now you are contradicting most of your insightful comments by ridiculing Dr. Paul.

Wow, Ron must really be getting into the public consciousness if even good old Jossip is putting in a word about him.

You've smeared my good friend journalist before with a bunch of lies… it's really satisfying to know that RP is making all the right enemies :)

Little minds try to destroy, big minds try to create. Check out how much creativity and passion for this country Ron Paul inspires, and then ask yourself: what have you created today?

As for that insanity — Mad, adj.: affected with a high degree of intellectual independence, not conforming to standards of thought, speech, and action derived by the conformants from the study of themselves; at odds with the majority; in short, unusual. It is noteworthy that persons are pronounced mad by officials destitute of evidence that they themselves are sane…

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, well if Dr Paul is elected president that is. Odds are though our rights will be taken from us with another candidate if that is what you are after.

How about putting rules on the net? Imagine how free the reporting would feel when you have to pay to go to certain sites as well as follow strict guidelines?

There are many reasons to elect this man and only a few reasons to talk down upon him. Either way however everyone gets an opinion in this great nation.

Romney acquired a total of 100,000 donors in the first - third quarter COMBINED.

Ron Paul has over 120,000 donors this quarter alone.

Giuliani lead the Republican pack for donations last quarter with $11 million.

Ron Paul has so far brought in $18.5 million this quarter.

Ron Paul's supporters are behind him 100%. Many people following the other candidates are wishy-wishy on who they support and have significant reservations about their candidates.

Look at the numbers. Look at the facts. Explain to me how Ron Paul isn't significant.

Keep an eye out for a 2nd place showing in both Iowa and New Hampshire. After that, things will really start moving.

Seriously, do you guys STALK every website and blog for negative mentions of Ron Paul and then immediately make comments defending him?!? You all definitely get credit for tenacity.

No, we don't stalk this blog (ugh! what a waste of bandwidth) We just use news.google.com to do a date-ordered search. I refresh every 30 minutes or so. :D

If you thought that statement was one of quitting, you are sadly mistaken.

Ron Paul will be winning by Feb 5th. He is already opening offices and buying ad time in all of the "Super-Tuesday" states. $18.5 million dollars means he can buy the media, and not be dependent on the news organizations.

Ron Paul is catching on - I'm telling ya.

    Later.

    To win, of course.

You never thought of the logical contradiction of telling someone to vote for someone because they are going to win without your vote?

Semantically it would make more sense that you would not vote for anyone based on those arguments. Kill your TV, open your mind, not all that is smart is liberal.

DavidDust, it's called Google News. Jossip's BS load made the hit pages, so we check it out.

Obviously this guy is yet another waste of Web Space.

But he has the right to be stupid, unless he votes it away on one of the other candidates–you know, the socialist and fascist authoritarian ones.

While I am glad that Jossip has the ability to have it's own opinion, it's seems way to easy to call Ron Paul crazy these days. Is it that he is crazy or is it that most Americans are lazy, apathetic and driven by consumption and selfish arrogance? I know that this country will not be around for much longer at it's current rate. Every great power thinks they are invincible and unstoppable and in the end, it's their arrogance that defeats them. Something needs to happen very soon in this land, or all is going to be lost to religion, fear and greed. I do not think Ron Paul has all the answers, but he votes consistently with the constitution and the last time I checked, we still followed that, even if very little anymore. It's always those who think out of the box who are labeled "insane" or "loony" throughout history. In Europe, people like Romney, Rudy and Huckabee would never be considered for places of power. They are too far behind the times, too arrogant and self assured in their crazy religions. Unfortunately, both parties have been hijacked by corporations and greed, someone needs to do something soon, or we will be on our knees begging for food. However, I think that if these Ron Paul supporters want to gather more respect and voters, you all need to learn to be less defensive and attacking. You can't attack everyone when they don't agree with you, all the time. I have seen the same level of anger and frustration on nearly all the major websites, on a daily basis. I understand that this is extremely important and you are passionate and full of hope. I would much rather see that, than apathy and laziness. Just remember that you are only hurting his campaign by insulting people and belittling them. He supports freedom and open discussion, so I would hope you would do the same. Imagine the people you could affect, if you came to them as equals and debated your thoughts on the subject. Our differences will be the thing that destroys this country. We need to focus on our goals and similarities, not over inflated jingoism.
