New Reality TV Shows Make The Big Bang Theory Look Good
Networks Prepare For long term strike with terrible reality programming

It’s day three and the writers are still striking.

More shows have stopped production due to the walk out, including Desperate Housewives, Back to You, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Til Death, and Rules of Engagement. At least late night shows won’t feel lonely in repeats.

Producer-writers for Grey’s Anatomy and The Shield have sided with the writers and stopped working. Hillary Clinton, copying Barack Obama, has also endorsed the writers.

Since Americans have never been the type to read the newspaper after work, the networks have planned some high class reality TV to substitute for scripted shows.

After the jump, a preview of the strike season.

Fox
Moment of Truth: A polygraph, $500,000 and 21 personal questions. This show will surely get to the root of existential questions like is there anything Americans won’t admit on national TV for money and why does everyone trust the polygraph?

When Women Rule the World: On a remote, primitive location, women will be in charge and men will be subservient. Great idea: let’s reinforce subvert gender stereotypes by building a society based around them.

NBC
American Gladiators: Apparently the 1990s now have retro appeal.

Amne$ia: Here’s some math: Dennis Miller + trivia questions about contestants’ own lives = where’s the remote?

My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad: Finally, an opportunity for parents to act out their insecurities through their children on national television.

Clash of the Choirs: If you find Dancing With The Stars too intellectual, this show is for you. Ex-famous musicians make a choir from their people in their hometown and have a sing-off with other ex-famous musicians’ hometown choir. But wait, it gets better. The contest will air live.

Baby Borrowers: Remember in Health when you were assigned to care for an egg and despite your best intentions, the egg eventually broke. This show is like that, but instead of an egg, young couples will get real people to care for irresponsibly.

Most Outrageous Moments: A clip show. Isn’t that what YouTube is for?

CW
Crowned: The Mother of all Pageants: Mother-daughter teams on the pageant circuit. The moral: children are like a second chance for parents to live their dreams.

ABC
Just for Laughs: Remember candid camera? Good, this is the exact same show.

Here Come the Newlyweds: Network TV’s attempt to destroy new marriages for crash prizes.

Suddenly reading doesn't seem so bad.

Agreed, Tim. Jim Parsons is awesome, as it the rest of the cast.
