Nina Garcia, currently appearing on Project Runway's fifth season as Elle's "editor-at-large," is, as you already know, totally done with Robbie Myers' mag and has not-so-quietly moved on to Marie Claire. And though she doesn't officially start there until Sept. 2, she's already moved into her office — perhaps because the one Elle was keeping for her is lined with glass shards. (Marie Claire denies she's started working there, citing Garcia's contract with Elle; they insist she's only been in the office to coordinate fashion show travel.)
And while Garcia is definitely a commodity worth grabbing for Marie Claire — which is expected to scoop up Project Runway when it moves to Lifetime — it turns out the relationship might not be a match made in couture heaven.
At Marie Claire, Garcia assumes the post of fashion director, kicking Tracy Taylor out the door. And Garcia is intent on bringing her Elle mentality with her — which means upmarket clothing, not the affordable crap Marie Claire's editorial is about. "The Project Runway judge also is said to be conducting 'run-throughs' for fashion shoots for the January issue. Sources said Garcia’s requests for high-end designer wares to be featured in fashion spreads can at times be at odds with Marie Claire’s more mass-market sensibilities."
But hey, at least Garcia isn't tarting up the magazine with half-naked guys like Elle seems to be doing, ya?

Yeah, Nina is probably all the way up to a 2 now, from the looks of that photo. Maybe it was taken when she was pregnant last year.

Just returned today from St. Tropez and she was staying with her husband at the BYBLOS. I also stayed there and bumped into her several times.
By the way, she looks absolutely gorgeous!
Saw Nina 3 weeks ago at the hamptons she looked stunning. She is so chic! Im sure that is an old picture of her because she looked so skinny and pretty.

Marie Claire needs an update, Elle is a fabulous magazine and high end is the way to go, buy one piece rather than 5 pieces, unless Marie Claire wants to appeal to the tween set,
Nina is looking FABULOUS I saw her also at the South of France.
I wonder how flexible her job is in marie claire that allows her to go on a vacation so soon.
