Nobody Watched Donny Deutsch's Show Last Month
At least not enough to matter

Terry Murphy will replace Wil Surratt as the executive producer of The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, effective today, says TVN. Oh, and there's also this bit of news: The Big Idea clocked just 114,000 viewers in May, "scratching" on its Nielsen ratings, since it fellow below the threshold of 122,000 viewers needed to even register.

Maybe it's because all Donny does is brag about how much money he has and how successful he was in his wonderful ad agency (he started it by himself, you know!), and talk about money every SINGLE second of his awful, awful show.

I actually really enjoy watching the show as an entrepreneur. It shocks me that not more people watch this show, but then again not too many people have the guts to start and run a business. Donny does not brag about his personal net worth, he merely shows others what hardwork and determination can do. Keep on fighting the good fight Donny, I stand with you.

You do know that Donnie DID Not start his agency but in fact inherited it from his father. He did expand it but Dad had a thriving concern.

I really like the show. It inspires me to see how people have become successful by starting their own business. I'm not surprised it is doing poorly though. Most people would rather try their luck at the lottery, rather than doing the work it takes to run a successsful business.

I watch The Big Idea all the time. It's on at 10PM here and repeats at 1:00AM. If I miss the earlier one I watch it at 1:00AM. I love the show. I can't tell you how much it has inspired me as an entrepreneur. Maybe the time slot is not convenient, but more people should watch this.

This is what America is all about. If you want to be a wage slave, fine, but we have an opportunity to create wealth by providing a valuable service or product and growing our economy. We all have a chance and Donny tells you what you need to do to be successful. Keep this show on your priority list.

I don't watch his show often. Don't watch TV often. But I think he has a good show.

Some of the products are crap, but I like the fact that Americans make an effort to make their dreams come true by using their creativity.

This trait is what separates us from the rest of the world and makes us a wealthy country.

BTW, his show is better than the crap political shows on cable NBC, at least you can learn something.

I enjoy the show but I am still trying to figure out if he is always doing ladies underwear segments because he is a horndog or if he's applying the classic advertising mantra "sex sells".

I think it is a pretty good show, often inspiring, and I hope it stays on the air. The fact that it doesn't rate well in our vast television wasteland doesn't mean that it's not a good show.

It doesn't matter how good a show is, it's whether it can generate ad revenue. If not enough people watch, it will get cut. I have watched this show a few times, and he does have interesting guests. He doesn't overdo the self-made (or inherited) man thing, and he seems genuinely interested in his guests' stories.

It's a *great* show — very inspirational and savvy. People need to know it's there and what it is to tune in. I suspect more people would if they promote it the right way. Hang in there Donny!

Another no talent jew for whom the media is trying to create a lucrative career. Donny Douche and his show is just awful. Even that anti semitic harpy Coulter couldn't save this show with her "jews need to be perfected" bulls**t.

The Prophet, you need to get your head out of your ass and wake up to the 21st century. You are dangling on the edge of the Evolutionary chain and if you're not careful you'll fall off. Not that it would be any great loss.

Donny douche. Got his career the old-fashioned way. He's the son of a talented, creative person who left him an ad agency.

Hey everyone. Donny Deutsch speaks to everyone out there who has an idea and has the nerve and guts to go into business.
He is NOT NOT NOT for those who are ok with sitting back and working a job to get by.
His BIG IDEA is the American Dream. He has given me the
courage and support to live MY American Dream…
It is inspirational, informational and right on the money.
With the economy where it is and people losing jobs right and left. This show gives you what you need to succeed on your own terms….
Watch the show… you'll see.

How is it I am always on the wrong-side! I think this show is great and actually look forward to it!
I'm not all about the rah-rah of business but I am all about positive influences, ideas, and people who get off their asses and make a successful life for themselves and others. This show promotes that and could inspire others to do the same.

The inspiration for Deutsch's persona, presentation and personal style seems to be Donald Trump. Unfortunately, when you lack a billion dollars or so and appear to be only mildly self-contgratulatory (compared to Trump) you become obnoxious and nobody listens.

Perhaps Deutsch needs to go back to the agency to re-tool his approach. As far as I can tell, he is now morphing Conversations with Michael Eisner.

Deutsch get over your bad self!

Its a damn shame that the show may be pulled. I try to watch it every night. I think its inspirational and very well done. Finally a show for entrepeneurs. People with guts enough to go for it and to make some decent money in the process.

I just discovered this show last week. Truth is most of us who are working for the American Dream probably don't have a ton of time for TV.

Self-employed persons seek a mentor, daily motivation, positive reinforcement, direction, tips, and a whole lot more to survive, this show gives us the reassurance that our efforts are not falling of deaf ears and that we should sleep each night, that ounce of energy to spring out of bed tomorrow, this show is necessary. The Big Idea is one of the best resources in television programming, ever. All of the "nobody's" on the show are successful entrepreneurs–google them. The best part of the show is that it is on 5 nights a week and I need it!

Good luck!

The Bid Idea is great. When it first started out, he did have a lot of famous/celebrity guests on which wasn't as good, but a few years ago, he started to bring on entrepreneurs/business guru's & small business owners which has catered to a different audience. For the people that watch it that left positive comments, they understand what the show is about, and that's inspirational story lines about people that took a chance to do something everyone told them they couldn't do. It's unfortunate, that more people don't watch, but there are a lot of us that will.
