Sex kitten Rachel Kramer Bussel, who writes for publications with "Pent" and "house" in their titles, tried exploiting this whole web video thing everybody is talking about to promote the erotic book Spanked that she's editing. So she uploaded a promo teaser to four video sharing sites: Vimeo, Flickr, YouTube, and Blip. In the clip, Bussel shows you just what to expect inside the pages of Spanked, namely, spankings — with books, rulers, hands, frat paddles, and even a copy of Spanked. If the book doesn't move on Nielsen BookScan's charts, at least it'll be an example in the standards policies of each of the sites.
Within hours of its posting, both Vimeo and Flickr had the clip removed. Flickr, because the video was too racy; and Vimeo, because it might be both porn and commercial content. Dumping grounds YouTube and Blip, meanwhile, still have the clip online. They will be thanked in Spanked's follow-up.

What an incredibly stupid p.r. move. Who's advising this woman? STUPID! You don't post questionable content to family-friendly video posting sites–that's pretty simple, and pretty understandable. The video sharing sites should sue. And this woman needs to understand that probably about 99 percent of the general population could care less about "spanking" and S&M practices, which to this day, some psychologists label as dangerous, destructive and questionable behavior. Give it up.
Umm… grow a clue, "thefrontpage". YouTube has a setting for each video that flags it as mature content, and there was no nudity in the video. And as far as "some psychologists label as dangerous", "some" is not "all", or even "a majority". "Some psychologists" also still think homosexuality can be cured, and "some psychologists" still believe in discredited practices like "rebirthing". So if you don't like spanking, don't do it and don't watch videos (or read books) that feature it. But leave the judgmental crap elsewhere. Like FOX News or something.

Rachel's blog is great, as are several of her websites. Sex Kitten extraordinaire in my eyes and heart. Her cupcakes will bring me and msot red-blooded men (and women) to the yard anytime. Her writing and editing is honest and clever and eye-opening.
