NYT Styles, Where Being Gay is Always in Fashion
In what section does an article discussing gays against gay marriage belong?

Well, if you're talking about the New York Times, it belongs in the Styles section. After all, these days nothing is more fashionable than being gay.

Wow. I didn't realize the Supreme Court had made the decision last week to restrict marriage to one man and one woman…and I check current news stories on various websites every day.
I hope to live to see the day when a civil union can be entered into by as many people as choose to be in that union, and can be ended with as little fuss as it began. Some of my favorite science fiction stories envision a future where marriage is a legal contract of a set length. One year didn't work for you? Fine. Go your separate ways. Or, let's say the trial period worked out just fine, and you want to sign up for another five or ten. You could continuously renew the contract, or decide this is your soulmate, and sign up for the lifetime contract.
That future is probably just as realistic as hoping the world will give up religions, because as long as religion is around, people are going to think they have to be saddled with the same person for the rest of their life, even if they realize 3 years later that they made a mistake (that's my story - it ended fairly easily, considering what most people go through).
