Obama's VP Pick Based On Crucial Googleability
Credentials

Obama might pick his running mate as early as this Wednesday, or then again, he might not. The important thing is that he's chosen, and perhaps could feasibly let the rest of America know his game-plan soon, probably via text-message. Sources say the senator has narrowed it down to three candidates; Sen. Evan Bayh (Indiana), Gov. Tim Kaine (Virginia), and Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. (Delaware). Here's hoping for Biden, so he can put Delaware back on the map.

So what was the top secret method for determining these illustrious and potentially history-making VP selections? Duh, Google:

Democrats close to the process said the ability to turn up information on the Web had made it easier for Mr. Obama’s search team — Caroline Kennedy and Eric Holder, a former deputy attorney general — to plumb the backgrounds of prospective running mates with relatively little notice. In addition, because so many of the candidates were senators, they were required to file annual financial disclosure reports.

Ah hah! Google is now the official government background checker, ey? At one time, the FBI and CIA existed for this sort of thing. What is the Military Industrial Complex needed for, then, if campaigns can just Facebook senators to see whether they were out drinking with friends when they called in sick that one time?
