Oprah Dedicates Show to Battered Women Everywhere Just Rihanna

Oprah's next show will be dedicated to all the Rihannas of the world" and will also include special guest Tyra Banks.

Who in her own way, is exactly like Rihanna and thus it makes sense that she would be featured in this episode, as opposed to some no name nobody who has actually suffered from physical abuse and has a story about how they gained the strength to walk away from their toxic relationship. So by "">all the Rihannas in the world" maybe Oprah just meant "famous beautiful black women with lots of money."

Love how it is overlooked that she hit him, also.

So she hit him too? whats your point. does that now make it ok for what he did. everyone knows she it him. no one cares. because its neither here nor there. i dont care if she kicked him in the balls and spit in his face. you NEVER hit a women. period. walk away. its never ok to punch a women in the face and bite her and hold her in a head lock. i dont know where you were raised or who your parents were but its not ok for a man to hit a women ever.

@dre:Where did I say it was OK for him to hit her? Do you know how to read or not? Doesn't seem like you are very literate. My point is no one should hit anybody. Giving her a pass because she is a woman is ridiculous. Now get back to school, flunkie.

No woman hits a man for nothing. She hit him because she was hurt.

you didn't have to say it was ok jj. i would never zero in on the fact that it was "overlooked" that she hit him also. it says a lot about a person who points to the victim. as i said, it wasn't overlooked. no one cares she hit him. and i do give her a pass for hitting him. he's a cheater and clearly, hes hit her before.

btw, i've had enough schooling, thanks.

Well, they teach you in school that "I" is capitalized, along with the first word of a sentence, so I don't agree with your assessment that you have had enough. In no way do I condone what he did to her. Make all the excuses you want, she is in the wrong for hitting him, also.

Yes, they taught me that "I" is capitalized and all first words of a new sentence are as well. If that???s what you were referring to when you said I should go back to school, well than I guess you got me! I must be a "flunkie" for not using capitalizations in my sentences in the jossip website!!!

I still find it funny that after you read the article, the only thing you commented on was the fact she wasn't called out for hitting him. I suspect that you might have been involved in an altercation someone in your life that "hit you also" that's why you're so adamant about it.

Anyway, I'm busting out my old grammar books for a refresher course on CAPITALIZATION.

Can we just stop? I didn't come here to argue. You picked my post to try out your amateur psychiatrist assumptions and you were wrong. Just because I feel she shouldn't hit, now I am a victim of abuse? You are absurd and nonsensical. Damn, why do I get all the weirdo's??!!

I never called you a victim of abuse. I assumed you weren't the victim in your situation, because a victim would have never pointed out that her hitting him was overlooked.

I didn't pick your post to try out my "amateur psychiatrist assumptions" or to argue. I just found it sad that after you read the link, all you thought to write was that the victim wasn't being blamed. I'm neither absurd or nonsensical. I just don't think a victim should never be blamed. (if you read the police report, you'll see that she hit only after he wouldn't let her out of the car.)

Anyway, take care!!

@dre: Who the f**k are you? The internet Nazi police? It's called an opinion, everybody has one! C**nts like you raging when someone doesn't have YOUR opinion make me sick! You hide behind a computer spouting how wrong everyone is but YOU! If that bitch hit me, I would have knocked her head off! It works both ways, asshat! That bimbo had no right to haul off and smack him first. The fact she is not charged is BS! Throw her butt in the slammer too!

What the fuck? It's no okay for a woman to hit a man. And it's ridiculous to think when a women hits a man she has good reason to.
The thing is, he didn't just hit her back, he hit her many times and possibly could have killed her. That's why he's loathed now. And, well, hitting someone to get out of a car is fair game (if that's what happened). How the hell are you supposed to free yourself?

And I agree 100%, Drew. I actually find it offensive that a dolt like Tyra will be in charge of such a serious issue.

I have to say that jj I see you point and not choosing sides but your right. It's wrong for what he did but but hitting him isn't right either. I have watched my mother go through the worst times while being with my father so I do know what it feels like. Man or women violence isn't cool. And "dre" what makes it ok because she's a women to hit him? Many people don't know but women can provoke and cause a man to do things that they will regret so saying it's ok because she's a female is IGNORANT….I am a female and I see it as wrong is wrong. No one needs to put there hands on anyone period.

@Sha: Exactly! I am a woman, too. I guess some people (dre) think it's fine she hit him. Oh, well. Hopefully, they will both get some counseling!

JJ & Sha, she was defending herself, thats why its ok. She is 5'2" and he is 6'.

"Many people don't know but women can provoke and cause a man to do things that they will regret"

No matter what a women says or does, she should never be hit by a man. I don't know where and by who you guys where raised, but if my father ever raised his hand to my mom, he would be jailed, broke and alone. I guess i am ignorant to think that thats how it should be.

I think its fine she hit him back. I do and always will. Just like you two seem to think that its excusable that he beat her ass because she might have provoked him. Thats all you've ever known, excusing the man.

This is old and I'm over it. Take care and make sure you don't speak to you husbands or boyfriends in a way to "provoke" them. If you do, just take the beating and don't fight back. Its not good to hit!

You are a serious idiot. I wrote over and over I don't condone what he did. You can't comprehend this.
