It turns out Oprah wasn't upset with Hermes the company, just the bitch working the door at their Paris store.
As expected, Oprah used yesterday's show to recount her June snub by the luxury retailer that refused her entry into the store because, uh, they were closed to set up for a private event.
She also dismissed nearly all the tabloid reports of the incident and pinpointed her anger at the sole employee, not the whole company. Opie invited the U.S. president of Hermes to offer his sincerest regret.
He offered a hearty apology for the actions of the impolite employee, saying, "Honestly, she did not know who you were."
In response, Oprah thanked him for his "heartfelt" apology and said she "was not trying to play that celebrity card."
She closed the subject by encouraging fans who had been boycotting Hermes' famous Birkin bag to "wear" the bag if they wanted to.
And if they can afford it, let alone get on the waiting list.
