Our New Surgeon General Loves to Tweet

Listen, we can stop writing punchlines about microblogging tool Twitter as soon as people stop fucking Tweeting inappropriate occasions. Like a little boy's funeral, for instance, or say when you just found out you might be the next Surgeon General, as Sanjay Gupta yesterday. If we wanted our nation's doctor to be a misanthropic blogger, we would have hired Gregory House, okay? Also, LOL @ Obama, notorious hater of the press, for looking to a journalist to fill the post. Then again, Gupta is paid more than $30,000 for speaking engagements, a "controversial practice" for a journalist. What would an Obama pick be without controversy and scandal?

Well, let's see … Sanjay Gupta doesn't claim to be a journalist so, LOL@Obama got that wrong, right? As I understand it, Gupta is just 39 years of age and already a respected, practicing neurosurgeon in Atlanta with an appointment to the Emery University faculty, a former White House Fellow, and, as a terrific and knowledgeable communicator, Gupta is a popular and trusted CNN contributer on medical issues. Our nation would be damn lucky to have him as Surgeon General. Get it right, LOL@Obama. Oh, wait, then I guess you'd have to be journalists who know a tiny bit about double sourcing your facts.
