Out of Work Bankers and Journalists Can Now Try Their Hand At Comedy

Crash Mansion on the Bowery always has a pretty good residency program, with not-sucky bands doing a weekly gig there. But now the stage will be taken over for a bi-weekly Comedy Central booking, where up-and-coming (blurgh) comics can try their hand at comedy. The venue will also feature comedy screenings and workshops. So basically like a rogue UCB theater, where you go and try to polish your funny in hopes of getting noticed by a casting agent.

The showcase is similar in concept to the Comedy Central Stage in Los Angeles, which served as a springboard for Mind of Mencia and the Naked Trucker & T-Bones Show.

Oh. Well. Those two shows. Nevermind, resume circling those ads in the back of Craigslist.
