Before Sarah Palin can continue her crazy career with a lucrative talk show deal, she'll have to prove that she can hold her own in front of other sympathetic hosts. So right now, she's getting courted by everyone from Babs to Oprah to suspender-wearing Larry King.
So far though, she's only accepted one offer, and the most obvious one to boot, Greta van Susteren over at the "sympathetic" Fox News.
After her nine week whirlwind tour, we think we know a little bit about Palin's interview tactics: The way the McCain camp steered her away from NBC's Brian Williams to punish MSNBC, the infamous Katie Couric interview…at this point, with Palin playing scapegoat to all the GOP's impotent rage, the last thing she needs is more hard-hitting questions about where Africa is on a map.
But? A smarter choice for Palin might have been CNN's Campbell Brown, since Brown is currently white-knighting in Sarah Palin's defense against the machismo of the Republican ticket. If Sarah really wanted to prove herself an independent candidate worthy to run in 2012, she'd separate herself from the failed campaign and go on Campbell's show to discuss the sexism of the right.
Some other ideas:
1. Give interview to Hustler, maybe do something with the porn star who played her kinda like she did with Tina Fey on SNL
2. Spend some time with the ladies at the Independent Women's Forum - they're real kindred spirits
3. Keith Olbermann - if she can make his head explode it would really make my day
Greta has stated many times that she does not agree much at all with Sarah Palin's political views…..however, she maintains some semblence of journalistic integrity in that she doesn't strive to demonize this woman as so many others have done. This is much more than a political "war"…it's very much a sexist and cultural war that is being battled over Gov. Palin.
PS……..if anyone has any doubts about who'll be the last man….er….woman standing…well, I suggest we all get back together on this in about 4 years.
If Palin had been telling the truth that it was the McCain campaign "handlers" keeping her from the media, she wouldn't be going to FOX, she would be marching to CNN or NBC demanding her true voice be heard. But she's not. She is still hiding behind the protective curtain called FOX News…Sarah, if you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch! (You can see Russia from there).
