People announced its "Hottest Bachelors of 2006" today. All we have to say is, Taylor Hicks? Really? A senior editor of People even had to go on the Today show to try and explain this one.
"He's in the right place at the right time," she said. Which helps when meeting someone, or getting a job, but doesn't really explain why People thinks he's sexy.
Well, then again, three of the bachelors, including J.C. Chavez, went on Today to try to find a date … something hot swingin' bachelors usually don't have to do. Y'know, because they're hot.
We can totally agree with Jake Gyllenhaal, Adrien Grenier, Owen Wilson … even Josh Lucas. But come on, People. Do you really have to rub it in our face that all the real hotties (Jason Lewis, Heath Ledger, Brad Pitt) are already taken?

Taylor Hicks on the cover of PEOPLE as the hot of the hot? Why not?
1.) He's good looking, I mean, who can resist those eyes and that 1000 watt smile of his. The grey sprigs in his full head of hair just add to his charm and mature, manly nature.
2.) He can croon and dance like no one else I've seen in a while. Yeah it's different but….Anyone remember a man named Elvis? Hello, he's channeling someone I do believe. HINT: Elvis was either loved or hated in his day…no in between. But he's still the KING. Nuff said there.
3.) He paid his dues singing it out in bar joints and sappy weddings for almost 11 years, so he's not like he "fell" into this role on a whim of "hey, I think I'll try out for the American Idol thing, my granny always told me I could sing". A woman likes a man who's "seasoned" and mature in a line of work that he's longed to succeed in. Shows he has commitment and stick-to-it-ness, no?
4.) HE"S A NICE SOUTHERN GENTLEMEN. Who doesn't like politeness and courtiousness nowadays?
Yep, I'd say he' IS indeed the total package.
He's young enouogh to be my kid but I think his sweetness shows through and that alone makes him sexy.
He performs with open abandon and obvious love for music. The joy he exudes makes me happy! Besides , he looks like a man, a gentleman, not a "pretty boy".

TAYLOR HICKS! I was so happy and proud as a fan to see him on the cover of People…just where he should be. He is living the American Dream and he is an American Dream to a lot of us Ladies out here, especially in the South! I am glad to see that someone compared him to the King but I keep saying but "Taylor is just Taylor…unique in his own right". Yes he is definitely a very handsome man and extremely sexy when he sings. If he can't find someone who won't mind coming into second place next to his music my hand is raised high. Taylor and his music aren't two different things…Taylor and his music are ONE in the same. It was extremely refreshing to see someone that showed America what a real gentlman looks like. People Magazine got it right. Taylor is absolutely the hottest bachelor. He is the man for sure and millions and millions of us would love to get to know him personally. He has so many qualities that I adore, sweet, kind, humble, caring, sassy, smart, funny and sexy. I know he has a little bad boy in him and I love it. You watch one of his solo concert tours and you will see what real sex appeal is. Hot does not fairly describe this man. He oozes sex appeal.
