People Who Scale NYT's building May Be Subject to Fines, Jail Time
Depending on how much of a terrorist you look like

Hey, remember when there was that rash of people climbing up the New York Times building because they could? Or maybe they did it for some causes, who remembers stuff like that? Anyway, the three gentlemen, who separately scaled the building at 620 Eighth Avenue, have all gone through the proper court process. Alain Roberts (left) was not indicted for his June 5th climb, because he was a "professional climber" and beloved by the world over. His punishment was a disorderly conduct slap on the wrist, which is "a violation akin to a parking ticket." Dude is like a French David Blaine, you're not going to punish David Blaine (we should always punish David Blaine.)

However, Renaldo Clarke (right), who climbed the building on the exact same day for malaria awareness, was indicted by a jury of his peers. And The Times is going to put their pictures right next to each other to subtly imply..hmm…maybe it's because of the way these guys looked that allowed Roberts to get off while Clarke will almost certainly face harsher penalties, including possible jail time?

So without even asking the question, but sort of asking the question the NYT wants to know: is race dead when it comes to illegal acts that could be construed as terrorism?

Except, this argument is moot if you take the third climber into account:

Oh look, it's David Malone, the third climber of the New York Times building, who was also recently indicted, but only given a brief blurb in the Times piece. He just didn't fit in with their visual thesis, so the 29-year old activist was thrown overboard (so to speak).

i don't think that there is any racism. i,ve been climbing since 1975 and nearly every day since the age of 12
i got the prize from the IOC for the most difficult scent free solo ever done on earth.i,ve been training the special forces and the fire fighters as i'm also an instructor.
i did climb above the smallest street as i wanted to avoid the disorderly instead of climbing above the 8th avenue, i did avoid the rush hour by climbing at 11am instead of climbing at 5pm..as i was making a statement on global warming some people were distributing some brochure abt the cause and telling them to move away from the building..i really did everything that i could to minimize the mess and that is only the reson why i have been convincing towards the jurors..it has nothing to do with the color but much more with the way i did behave by taking as much precaution as i could for my statement..
best regards

hello,

i'm not pretending that renaldo is deserving a punishement. i'm only telling you abt all the safety precaution that i took for a fight that is deserving to be fought..and some of the argument that i have used in front of the jurors..for something like that in the european contries and most of the world renaldo would have to spend half an hour at the police station…that's it and that's all…it is only form of strike which is supposed to be a right for the citizen in our so called democratic country..
best regards
