The very famous, very shishi Rainbow Room will live to see another day! A judge has ordered that landlord Tishman Speyer can't evict the Cipriani family's eatery just because of a little thing like unpaid rent. Now the Cipriani's are counter-suing, saying that Speyer wants them out to turn the restaurant into office cubicles.
The verdict? Rainbow Room gets to stay until January 27th, at which time the court's temporary restraining order will expire. Looks like a quick Rainbow Room bake sale is in order to come up with the extra hundreds of thousands that they owe for back rent.
