Reporters To The Knicks: Let Us Love You
Covering the Knicks is less fun than an 11 year-olds would imagine

If you’re a Knicks fan, this season has been depressing, and if you’re a Knicks reporter, this Isiah Thomas-Madison Square Garden regime has been repressing.

Yesterday afternoon, MSG security gardens got physical with Knicks beat reporters when they tried to speak with an ejected fan.

A dozen ushers surrounded the three reporters, including myself, physically blocking our path and berating us for not listening to their orders, not “respecting” them and not letting them do their jobs. I explained that, in truth, it was the other way around. The security staff was keeping us from doing our jobs.

One reporter was physically restrained and had his credential torn off his neck.

This was after MSG guards refused to allow reporters to talk to Giants players at the game. Freedom of the press doesn’t apply to failing sports franchises.
