Sam Zell is currently in a tug-of-war with his employees over at the LA Times and Tribune. The maligned writers filed a lawsuit against Zell for scamming the company out of millions of dollars, while the gnomely huckster fired back with internal memos about partnership, while calling the lawsuits "frivolous and unnecessary." All per the norm finger-pointing that occurs when businesses fail.
But now the game's stepped up 2 the streets, with the plaintiffs making Zell out to be a monster in a letter to the press that highlights Zell's crappy music taste:

For example, Zell's upcoming birthday party will feature The Eagles. Ask Sam: how many of his "partners" are spending their birthdays in a similar fashion?
Um, hopefully none? Because who even listens to The Eagles anymore, except your dad and apparently Chicago billionaire scam artists.
Although it would be hysterical if Zell started blasting Hotel California on the LA Times loudspeakers in retribution for the employee mutiny.

Um, I'm pretty sure that's a tribute band called Hotel California, and not the real Eagles, in that picture there.
Maybe that's all Sam can afford what with Trib going under. Uh..wait…Sam didn't put up all that much. Never mind.
If you think he's doing a number on newspapers & those who work for them, talk to seniors in mobile home parks…..the ones where he jacked the rent up so high that he pushed them out of their homes.
This guy is a real piece of work.
May he rot in hell with music from the Eagles playing in the background.
