CBS is taking another cue from its premium channel Showtime in filling a Saturday night time slot that, apparently, is "often-overlooked." Could it be because there are fewer viewers, who are at the bars getting trashed, to go around on a Saturday night to warrant expensive programming? Maybe!

But that's not stopping the tiffany network from adopting Showtime's fight programming and expanding its arrangement with ProElite, which produces events for mixed martial arts (like Muay Thai and Krav Maga, of which Jose Canseco fights), to create four two-hour MMA specials for the broadcast channel to air during Saturday primetime — typically a dumping ground for repeats and five-year-old romantic comedies (does or anything starring Sandra Bullock) picked up on the cheap.
