Sometimes, the New York Post is predictably glib, with its signature no-holds-barred headlines seamlessly interspersing groan-inducing puns with lowbrow topicality.
Other times, however, the NYP stumbles into the realm of inadvertent humor, as with the recent publication listing "NEW YORK'S 50 MOST POWERFUL WOMEN."
Numbers 1-4 were fairly tame, if somewhat debatable (Hillary Clinton, Diane Sawyer, Christine Quinn and Beyonce** respectively) but it was the write-up of #5 that really grabbed our attention.
5. Rachael Ray, 38, author/TV host. She's the girl in the kitchen next door. And with friends like Oprah Winfrey ("Oprah" appearances put her on the map) and Bill Clinton (they're fighting childhood obesity together), she has launched the highest-rated new syndicated talk show since "Dr. Phil."
For what it's worth, we wish both Rachael Ray and Bill Clinton the best of luck in their joint fight against childhood obesity.
They've each had their ups and downs (Bill's late night trips to McDonald's and subsequent heart problems, Rachael's cankles and new contract with Dunkin' Donuts) but ultimately, we hope—and believe—that together, they'll persevere.
**Neither powerful, nor living in New York
