Shock U vs. Office Pirates: Results Won't Shock U

Shock U

Because we don't think they really work hard enough (school, jobs, internships … come on) we asked our interns Zack and Calista to waste some time browsing the geared-for-college-student sites Shock U and Office Pirates.

And while normally, we would have asked for a comparative essay, we then realized we would have to edit it. And we're trying to do as little work as possible. Hello that's why we have interns in the first place.

Read on after the jump to see what the hip, with it, barely 20-something kids are up to these days. If you need us we'll be at American Apparel trying to figure out how to smuggle a couple guns and find some hos to pimp. Ok, fine, we'll be shopping for leggings.

Shock U: Zack found ShockU's videos amusing, though nothing he hadn't seen before. Literally, videos like the South Park clip have been up on other sites, and because our fabulously bright whippersnappers are pretty with it, Zack is unimpressed.

He did however especially enjoy the "Sexxy" videos, which were "weird," but as Zack points out, "strange sexxy is better than no sexxy at all." They also subjected him to Lisa Loeb walking around in her underwear and conservative propaganda phone sex. Ew.

In a tagline: "Any college student or young professional tired of porn can enjoy these."

Calista did a 180 flip over this "nothing is off limits" college humor site. "The creators must scour the internet for any and every piece of video that they find hilarious, or just be crazy as hell." Her fave was the soapbox racer who flew down a hill and crashed. Kinky! Also there's some writing on the site … which, being a J-Schooler, she dug.

In a tagline: "It actually caused me to laugh."

Office Pirates: After swearing off his fate as a pencil pushing office rat (again, the bright ones come to Jossip), Zack was basically scarred for life by Office Pirates. The videos were original but, well, bad.

In a tagline: "The only people who would laugh at this are the people who have spent the last 4 years of their life in an office." And we're laughing at those people, so, we don't need this shit.

Because she's a class act, Calista was pretty unfazed by the guy who became possessed by his Mexican "Pedro" souvenir mug. And she is so over the Internet dating small talk. Basically, because they have scripts, these guys should be making us laugh … but that's the problem with trying too hard.

In a tagline: "I was hoping for something a little bit more… oh, I don't know… entertaining?"

Zack's ruling: Shock U
Calistas ruling: Shock U

There you have it folks. Our cool college interns prefer Shock U over Office Pirates because they live on this planet. Next up on the battel ground? Citysearch vs. New York Mag? Ed2010 vs. Mediabistro? Salon vs. Slate?

Oh, the possiblities of crap we can dump on these kids is just endless.
