Star Jones isn't just a formerly XXL self-promoting Bridezilla and co-host of The View. She's also a lawyer, dammit. Which is why she currently works for Court TV and is guest-starring on Law & Order: SVU…as a lawyer. (Just like her real-life persona!)
Anyways, Star was recently asked about the direction the show has taken since her, um, involuntary departure. And here's what she had to say:
It's very difficult not to keep up with [the show] if you read newspapers or magazines or do any work on the Internet….If that's what their viewers want, then that's where they needed to go. It's not where I would want it to go. That's why I'm doing [Court TV]. I wanted to return to something that allows me to be back where I'm at home.
At home? Tell us more about what goes on there!
I'm at home talking about the law. I'm at home talking about issues. There's enough mishegas out there that I don't need to add to it.
Wow, good thing Star reminded us about that "cushy" Court TV gig! We'd almost forgotten she was a lawyer! (Kidding, how could anyone forget?) But seriously, isn't it just amazing to think that while Rosie and Barbara were off exchanging words in the tabloids, she, Star Jones, was just sitting at home, staring at her professionally-framed law school diploma and talking about precedent-setting legal issues?
Amazing. But on a different topic, who says "mishegas" these days? Well, besides our Yiddish grandmother. Certainly not morning talk show hosts at ABC turned legal correspondents daytime talk show hosts on Court TV turned guest stars on SVU.! Seriously, come on, Star. The next time you catch yourself breaking out the orthodox Jewish catchphrases, just think to yourself: What would Ruth Bader Ginsberg think? If the answer is "oy vey," maybe you should consider rephrasing.
The hair attached to her head looks damn nice.
Can this fugly, un-charismatic fudgie the ex-whale pleeeease go away?? She's pompous, self-important and not talented as an on-air personality. I don't understand how she continues to have a career.
I'm happy for Star. I mean, she had to get back to work eventually and I don't begrudge her that.
"The View" is an entirely different show; and I agree, that it is not moving in the direction I would have liked. In fact, I have stopped TIVOing the show because I know if Rosie (who's "view" is the only one that now matters), says or does something outrageous, it will be reported, ad nauseum.
I will give Star a chance and watch her new show with an open mind. Before she got full of herself, I found her informed and entertaining. I wish her well.
what happened to her hgtv gig?
Thank Cujokays,
I am glad that I am not the only person in the world that does not mind giving Star another chance.
Haters in the world are crazy.
