Stephen Colbert Will Run As A Democrat
The Republican Nomination Was Too Expensive For A Joke

colbertt2.jpgStephen Colbert will file papers tonight or early tomorrow morning for the South Carolina Democratic primary. While he originally planned to bring his brand of “truthiness” to both parties, the $35,000 nomination fee for the Republican ticket was too expensive for Colbert, even with his corporate sponsorship.

After registering for the Democratic ballot for the bargain price of $2,500, Colbert still needs approval from the state party's council, which will decide if his candidacy is nationally viable.

Is that even a question? The man already has 1 Million Strong Facebook supporters, while so called “real” candidates are not even close to that. Come on, South Carolina, his candidacy is no more of a joke than Dennis Kucinich's.
