After 9/11, the distortion of facts and the withholding information by the mainstream media became not just a troubling theory held by some Kennedy conspiracy nutjobs, but almost a universally accepted truth. Hell, even ex-Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura believes that the Twin Towers collapse was an inside job.
What's even more terrifying though, is that no one at any network was held accountable, or even questioned, about the propagation of these half-truths about the September 11th, meant to keep America scared and in the dark enough that we would agree to almost anything the government suggested…even if that meant going to war in a country we had no business being in.
And! By allowing the MSM to get away with that one giant event, should you have any reason to believe that the information you're getting from the TV today is any more accurate or less biased than it was after those fateful days?
Below, a couple of stories pulled from the (lack of) MSM headlines about what is really going on in this country:
• The truth about H-2 Visas: The forms that allow immigrants to enter the country legally to basically become our slaves:
"Unlike US citizens, guest workers do not enjoy the most fundamental protection of a competitive labor market — the ability to change jobs if they are mistreated. Instead, they are bound to the employers who 'import' them. If guest workers complain about abuses, they face deportation, blacklisting, or other retaliation."
Ever heard of an H-2 visa? Welp, there you go.
• Celebrate your First Amendment rights in jail: $22 million dollars in government spending for the National Commission on the Prevention of Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism. This equivalent of the Thought Police can actually target you before you actually do anything radical:
"the National Commission [will] propose to both Congress and [Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael] Chertoff initiatives to intercede before radicalized individuals turn violent."
Tough issue, since obviously you want to catch violent terrorists before they strike, but so far as anyone knows there isn't a foolproof way to determine someone's guilt before they act. An interesting debate, would have loved to hear about it on CNN, or Fox, or hell, anywhere.
• America funds training ground for potential terrorists: ILEA, or the International Law Enforcement Academy, is one of the satellite operations America set up in Latin American countries, in this case El Salvador. While known that America loves its puppet dictators, the scary thing about this particular academy is that it focuses not on the militia, but the police:
Now, after more than three years in operation, critics point out that Salvadoran police, who account for 25 percent of the graduates, have become more violent. A May 2007 report by Tutela Legal implicated Salvadoran National Police (PNC) officers in eight death squad–style assassinations in 2006.
But hey, we didn't want to be the only country with a Sean Bell case, so it's only fair to go South and teach other country's finest how to shoot first, ask questions later.
Ever heard of the ILEA out of Lou Dobb's mouth? Or hell, Olbermann's? The big networks have too much to lose by releasing this sometimes-classified, definitely volatile information, which means you'll have to go to the conspiracy-laden web to find answers. Wade through the B.S. and find: The Truth is Out There(TM).
Thank you for posting this. I think that this economic melt down is really opening people's eyes and making them re-evaluate every other questionable thing our government has done.
Get the truth out there! Ask questions!
Someones been watching a little to much X-files.
Can someone please tell me what MSM is?
Main Stream Media
I'm more interested in the story behind the photo's tatoo…For ex: Are the listed names the 911 victims this fellow knew? Sad. Beautiful tat and evocative of the still untapped emotions engendered by this event…
The citizens of this country seem too stunned by ritualized trauma, some kind of mass Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, to be strong enough to look deeper than glimpses at the surface of issues. Until, I think, the loss of their financial security.
I hope that this Wall Street meltdown will prompt people to ask themselves why they worship money, believe ANYTHING they see on television - or why they even have one in their home - why they believe the elections AREN'T rigged…
I am still traumatized by the sight of those people jumping from the twin towers and I don't like the cheapening of that nightmare by embalming media coverage.
I'd like to believe people are waking up to all this…right…about now…
My family knows a firefighter that died in the tragedy. He was murdered by 20 self-righteous assholes that didn't watch TV and didn't value money.
