Page Six's Bill Hoffmann leads the day-after assault on the Daily News' circulation woes, somehow snagging congratulatory soundbites from Alec Baldwin, Lizzie Grubman, Yoko Ono, Domminick Dunne, and, uh, Madonna. (Required reporting last night, huh fellas?) After the Audit Bureau of Circulations report brought news of the Post sommersaulting over the Daily News and Washington Post to land in the No. 5 spot for highest circulation newspaper in the country, it's been business as usual at the Post — that is, Col Allan's been ordering up snub after snub in his copy.
But why should the Daily News feel like the bastard child of New York when it, too, can spin the numbers in its favor? Mort Zuckerman's daily is playing defense this morning, reminding readers its still the No. paper in the metro area.
Back at the Post, they've created a smattering of handy graphics to accompany their good news, one gayer than the next. We're especially fond of this one, where the Post goes with the very manly pink to convey its dominance. (Not that we've got anything wrong with pink around here.)

I've just been sitting around not getting anything done. I've just been letting everything wash over me these days. My life's been basically unremarkable lately. Pretty much nothing seems important, but so it goes. I've pretty much been doing nothing to speak of.
