Why are black bodyguards so prevalent both stateside and in Europe, on the arms of white and black celebrities alike? Does having this many large dark men filling such an occupation perpetuate the stereotype that blacks are ogreish and brutal? Is it this stereotype that created the profusion of black bodyguards in the first place? What gives?
Think Us is the only weekly getting hit with a lawsuit these days? Think again. Andrae "Doc" Renard Newman reportedly filed a libel suit against Star magazine Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
The charge? Newman claims he was "misidentified as … another of the 21-year-old actress' former bodyguards, in a photo caption accompanying the article," which apparently "damaged his career as a protector of Hollywood's rich and famous."
Which just goes to show that giant refrigerator-shaped people have feelings, too! Not to mention litigious inclinations. And a disproportionately high sense of self-worth.
