Arriving in our mailbox this morning was this reminder that, exactly six months ago today, an actor who was not Heath Ledger died:
Hello! :)
I am a huge fan of the late Brad Renfro. Today, Tuesday, July 15th, marks 6 months since Brad's untimely passing. Is there anyway that you could mention something in honor of Brad on the anniversary of his death? This is a significant and sad day for Brad's family, friends, and fans who loved him dearly, and as a fan, I think it would be so nice to see someone in the media actually pay respect to him on this day of remembrance.
And we were totally ready to whip up a couple lines of copy noting Renfro's half death-day … until we got to the second paragraph of the email: CONTINUED »

• Brad Renfro got snubbed at the “In Memoriam” montage because he wasn't famous enough for three seconds of screen time of a four hour program.

• Madonna is still pretending to be British. How come when people fake an English accent, they become posh-English instead of cockney-English? Class discrimination knows no borders.
• Oh, by the by, Brad Renfro died of a heroin overdose. But did you hear that Heath Ledger died? A real tragedy, huh? CONTINUED »

• Heath Ledger's palm reader talks to Life & Style: "He also had a dark, artistic line running from his head line to his heart line." We could have made up something better than that. CONTINUED »
Heath Ledger was found dead in his SoHo apartment this afternoon surrounded by sleeping pills. He was 28.
He was found naked in Mary-Kate Olsen's apartment. A commenter at Gothamist says the apartment was listed at $23,000 a month.
First Brad Renfro, now Heath Ledger. Will the AP be ready for the next under-thirty actor death?

KEEP SEARCHING Chess champion and crazy Bobby Fischer has died. He was 64. Max Pomeranc, the kid who played the chess prodigy hoping to be the next Bobby Fischer minus the emotional instability, hasn't made a movie since Fluke, in 1995. It's been a rough week for child stars. [AP]
MTV has an old-school interview with then-child star Brad Renfro. The other night on Letterman, Katie Holmes said she wouldn't mind if Suri went into acting. Watching the video, she should think, or have Tom think for her, a bit more about that.

Brad Renfro, child star from The Client, has died.
The actor was found dead at his home yesterday morning. The cause of his death is unknown, though he did seem to enjoy drugs and alcohol in his later years.
He was 25.
