It's a good thing those Broadway shows are on strike — since it means the little people can benefit from all the free time those actors have.
By little people, of course, we mean the homeless, who will bathe in the cash tips levied at them at Monday night's Celebrity Bartending Night at Frank's on West 16th Street, where Jersey Boys' John Lloyd Young, Spamlot's Christopher Sieber, Legally Blonde's Richard Blake, The Wire's Ernest Waddell, and other Brodway and TV notables will be serving up drinks for the charity Stockings With Care.
Then again, the event is on a Monday night, when most theatres are dark anyhow. So really, there's still nothing good to come out of the Broadway strike. But have fun pouring Patron for poverty!
Are you selfish? Uncaring? Not interested in boring topics like "Darfur," "Mahmoud Ahmadinejad" or "anything not involving you?" Well, why not take a break out of your daily ritual of unfettered self-indulgence to bid on a lovely pencil drawing of a nubile young male?
Not because the proceeds are going to a worthy cause (a non-profit dedicated towards raising AIDS awareness, YAWN!) but because the drawing's pretty fucking cool. And because, let's face it, if anyone out there deserves a little pick-me-up, it's you. [Queerty]

"It" boy Fabian Basabe has been gone from the headlines so long, the likes of likes of Tinsley Mortimer and Luigi Tadini have nearly replaced him from our consciousness. But Fabian, never one to run from a headline – other than those involving the terms "Star Room" and "negroes" – is intent on creating his own. And how else does an orientation-ambigious male socialite go about doing that? The same way a female socialite would: via charity. We hear that Fabian went and created the Imaginary Heroes Foundation, which we're told is registered as a 501c3/charitable non-profit. Which is a great way to accept tax-free contributions for a good cause. Or hide your income in a tax shelter. Either way, it needs a mission statement:
A philanthropic non-profit institution that serves as a resource for innovative people and initiatives worldwide. Its mission is to promote universal cooperation, and advance human achievement through support programs in such areas as medicine, education, research and service. With the help of other humanitarian organizations we will distribute funds to community development efforts around the world.
It's not that Imginary Heroes' mission sounds like nearly every other half-assed good-for-karma cause that puts a kink in our Frank Gehry-designed Tiffany necklace. It's that Fabian dubbed his foundation "Imaginary Heroes," the name of the 2005 Sigourney Weaver film that carries the tagline: "People are never who they seem to be." So close to reality, it's trippy.

Remember Us Weekly’s Head to Hollywood charity ball? The one where Paris Hilton had one margarita and then got pulled over? Well, if you do, you may remember that it was Ken Baker who was heading up that brain tumor charity. We’re not trying to be insensitive or anything… especially since we just realized Ken Baker himself battled a brain tumor for 12 years. But, the whole Hollywood charity thing is just so overplayed.

Oh, and if you want Baker’s charity to help you or someone you know cure their brain cancer, please send their photo and story. The charity prefers hot brain cancer patients to not-so-hot ones, so make sure you throw on some lip gloss and a wig.

Marc Jacobs, along with his business partner Robert Duffy, made a nude debut on the cover of Women's Wear Daily this weekend. And this is just a mini version of the 6 ft. tall poster that, as of today, will be hanging in the Gramercy Park Hotel. But Jacobs isn't just stripping down for the fun of it.
It's to raise awareness about skin cancer, and promote the tees they're selling for $20 to raise money for NYU's Melanoma Cooperative. But he could only get his fave celebs, including Winona Ryder, to strip for his ads by agreeing to strip down, too. And while we're sure you'd rather see Winona, here's a peak at what you'll find if you hit the Gramercy Park Hotel today.
Other celebs taking part in the campaign include Naomi Campbell, Rufus Wainwright, and Julianne Moore. Adam Moss has already ordered the complete line of Moore's tees, though, so you may have to settle for Selma Blair.

Are you free on Friday? Katie Couric would like you to join her for lunch. So what if she's not going to have any cute catchphrases to throw at you? If you're in the San Diego area by the end of the week, there's a guest list that your name should be on. A Jossip informant tipped us off to the meal – supposedly to benefit cancer research, though it's timed to coordinate with Katie's hand shaking tour – that CBS affiliate KFMB-TV is hosting.
As many of you may know, cancer has touched me personally with the loss of my husband to colon cancer and my sister to pancreatic cancer. I have made a commitment to do whatever I can to increase awareness, and raise research dollars to help scientists develop treatments that will enable more people to live with cancer and, ultimately, lead to the eradication of this disease. Please join me along with KFMB-TV and CBS News to support the important work of the Moores Cancer Center at the University of California, San Diego, where medical researchers are working side-by-side with physicians to bring new discoveries and new hope to patients.
I hope to see you at the luncheon!

Everyday we're inundated with press releases. "Tell your readers about some reality show they should be watching," scream some, while others go for the more tactful, "Tell your readers about some exclusive A-list event they're not invited to." But up until now, we've never received one with such self-deprecating confusion. Presented exactly as it arrived:

So will the celebrity art auction actually take place at MOCA? And will LaTanya and Samuel L. Jackson be co-chairs and flanked by said "captains of industry?" We're assuming yes, but we all know how those misplaced strike-throughs can reak havoc on reputations.

We haven't heard much from last summer's Hamptons princess Anna Anisimova lately, but that doesn't mean the former Denise Rich estate inhabitant isn't making waves while Paris Hilton abandoned the East End for European shores.
It was Anna's chance to establish herself as a Hamptons icon these past few months, not just a summertime one-off. It might be too late already, since she's only got till Labor Day to impress the gossips, and so far we haven't heard much since her season kick-off. Interesting, because she suffered the same fate last year, waiting until the last minute to throw a press-worthy bash.
But c'mon folks, she's trying. Really. Hard.
Just look: She hosted the Annual Young Friends of the Mental Illness Prevention Center at her Hamptons pad, where,
From the second guest left their cars, they were transported to paradise as Hula dancers greeted guest with a warm Aloha and adorned them with Laies around their neck.
The storytelling continues, with bonus B-list socliaites, after the jump.
