I really love dogs. Really. Love. Dogs. If there was a movie about my life it would be called Must Love Dogs but it would be better than that other movie with the same title, but John Cusak would still be in it. Any type of dog is my favorite, but the bigger the better.
So when I saw this video of a malfunctioning yippie puppy on Videogum today, I figured I would take a moment out from making fun of Sam Zell and Fox News or reporting on what magazines are going to close leaving hundreds out of work, and focus on what is really important today. Epilepsy in dogs.

Know what the kids at CollegeHumor.com haven't done since, uh, college? Pulled an all-nighter. Last night, that changed. From 9pm to 9am, the staffers engaged in a decent publicity stunt, considering their audience, creating/editing/posting ten original videos in that time span. And then they broadcast it live via webcam, BECAUSE THIS IS 1998.
"At the time, CollegeHumor co-founder Ricky Van Veen was fielding rapid-fire questions and comments (and even some demands) being made by members of the live chat, ranging from “What college did you go to?” to “Will you hire me?!?” to much less PG-rated discussion. Though nothing appeared planned or scripted, the show was consistently entertaining; from trivia tests to impromptu wrestling to casual banter, the night’s events felt like a real-time interactive comedy show, captivating us for a good hour and a half. Though we weren’t partaking, members of the live chat seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the immediate interaction with the website’s stars and writers and the webcam’s uniquely candid view into CollegeHumor and its content creators. At one point in the night, over 2,000 watchers were participating in the live chat, some talking to one another, while others were “LOLing” over (or dissing) the action being captured through the webcam. In the morning, we saw that 10 movies had indeed been produced, some of which were actually quite ingenious despite (or maybe due to?) the staff’s sleep deprivation." [PSFK]

Connected Ventures had their Christmas party last week, and we’ve been seeing pictures of a chimp with media types all over the internet since.
Not to get all sensitive, but since when is a monkey a funny thing to be photographed with? Ok, since forever. But still, that monkey’s a real animal, not a wacky side plot on an NBC sitcom.

Last night, as we regretted not wearing a thicker coat or comfier going-out shoes, it occurred to us that going from the Gotham/Bravo launch party for The Better Half at Room Service to the College Humor "One Last Desperate Gasp of Summer" bash at an East Village dive bar was the veritable party-hopping equivalent of jumping from a hot tub into a freezing cold swimming cool.
Which is to say, an extremely disconcerting adjustment that, in time, reminded us exactly why it is that we've always hated swimming so much in the first place.

Yesterday the boys of College Humor brought us the funniest/cruelest prank we’ve ever seen.
One question remains: After saying yes to a prank proposal and getting bitched slapped in front of Yankee Stadium, are Streeter and Sharon still together?
The CollegeHumor.com Streeter v. Amir prank wars continued in earnest this week, with the above. Why Zach Klein ever wanted to leave this bastion of frosh humor for "offline socializing" confounds us.
Zach Klein announced on his blog yesterday that he is leaving College Humor. He’s off to spend time with his "ideas" and "relationships."
In his goodbye, he reminisced about how College Humor, which started from a dorm room, had evolved into a full scale media empire but retained its college spirit:
Yet, we haven't changed. We're still defined by our charisma, and what we do still feels less like a business and more like a lifestyle. And, it's still accurate to say that CV is just a bunch of friends working and living together, doing what they like and profiting from it.
Despite leaving, Zach will retain the most charismatic parts about him: his glasses and his haircut. And of course his money.
