And Other Questions We Forgot To Ask But Will Subsequently Insert *Here*

Poor Deborah Solomon. When you admit to retroactively inserting questions that you should have asked (but didn't) of your interview subjects, you're pretty much just opening the door to a firestorm of media scrutiny, aren't you? Strangely, Jon Carroll of SF Gate doesn't much seem to care! Because she's a creative genius.

And while he sort-of implores us not to care, either, he does eventually concede, "In my interviewing experience, sometimes I would forget to ask a question and call the person up and ask him that question, but at least the question went with the answer, which is, like, the point of writing nonfiction."

Touché.
