When People teamed up with Britain's Hello! to offer a joint bid on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's baby twins, splitting the $14 million fee (that's $3.5m per twin per mag), the U.S. tabloid secured North American rights to the pics, while Hello! would get to print the photos in the rest of the world. One might've thought this would be an even deal, with shots from last week's photo shoot spread evenly between the tabloids. That wasn't the case, according to Jolie Expert and LAT blogger Elizabeth Snead: "Hello's cover shot is even cuter, more intimate and personal than People's." Did Larry Hackett got robbed?

The most popular issue of British tabloid Hello! ever published was the September 2007 coverage of Princess Diana's funeral; it moved 1,123,727 copies. The second-most popular issue? The September 2007 coverage of Princess Diana's death. [Guardian]

The first public photos of Knox and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt have already been taken! And, despite our suggestion to nobody in particular that Brad and Angelina split their newborn twins into two separate photo shoots to really maximize profit potential, the babies were photographed together.
But the babies will be split up in one sense: People magazine has secured North American rights to the photos, while British tabloid Hello!, which sports numerous international editions, will have other worldwide rights.
Sound familiar? That's because People and Hello! teamed up in 2006 to publish Brangelina's other baby, Shiloh.
In the end, the price is pegged somewhere between $11 and $15 million, though that could be off by as much as a multiple of two. And while the price is certainly one for the record books (for now), keep in mind that the price includes two babies; so really, we're talking bargain.
Not that it's any consolation to OK! publisher Richard Desmond. CONTINUED »

People paid $2 million for the right to slap Christina Aguilera's baby, Max, on its cover. But that sum was for U.S. rights only; in the U.K., Hello! magazine got its own photoshoot. The issue, which hits European newsstands on Feb. 19, includes 13 pages of the new mama at home with her spawn. You'll even get a peak at his nursery, where publicists are encouraged to send gifts.
Did you hear? Hello launched its first issue in India today, joining the ranks of Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire and Time Out, as well as the somewhat unpopular OK! And while normally, this would only be semi-interesting news, the editor of the Indian edition's overly effusive remarks transformed this matter-of-fact development from blah to unintentionally amazing:
"Hello! is the big daddy of the fine life," said Ruchika Mehta, the editor of the monthly's Indian edition.
"The larger-than-life romances, the 'bling' homes, the to-die-for fashion and class, the 'giga-gorgeous' women and men, all packaged into a high gloss monthly."
Yes, it's certainly a proud day for America. We're so glad we could give those Bollywood stars a taste of "the fine life" by bringing them Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and, of course, that incorrigible class act, Lohan.
We hope you're reading now and saving these images while you can, because the people at People are probably going to crap their pants in about 14 seconds.
Our devilish stepsister Mollygood scanned the photos from Hello! And damn, that Brad Pitt is a sexy daddy! We guess the baby's kind of cute, too.
NOTE: Due to People's dumbass move of paying $4.1 million dollars for photos that Hello! ran three days before they did, we are forced to take down the pictures of the Jolie-Pitt family which once graced this blog.
But if you live in a cave and still want to check out the photos on sites that haven't been threatened by People, check out the New York Post, New York magazine, and People.
Quick, People's legal department will probably bring action against People.com any minute now.

Hey, what do you know … Page Six was wrong*.
Even though the photo looks a bit out of focus, as far as we know this Hello! cover is legit, and you are about to (maybe) feast your eyes on the first photo of Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt cuddling with mommy Angelina Jolie and daddy Brad Pitt.
(Lawyers for Time Inc. and People forced us to take down the image of Hello! magazine with Shiloh Nouvel on the cover. We guess because they paid like a gillion dollars for that baby's face.)
Awww, she looks like a baby! A really hot baby. And someday, when this little cutie saves Africa because her parents sold her to Unicef, they will build statues of her and write a really long book of scripture. So, even if this isn't her baby sister, the point is that Zahara is clearly going to have some serious issues.
The moment you've all been waiting so long (a week or so) for: Shiloh photos [Mollygood]
*Correction: We failed to recognize that Hello! is a British pub, and that People may very well still get the US rights to own all photos of Brangelina's baby.
