Everyone's a'speculating that only three months after giving birth to her daughter, Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant again. And so far it seems to good to be true: The Spears faithful rep (god that man must be tired) already squelched the rumors.

But as they say, a story is only as true as you make it (that's not something anyone says), so Bonnie Fuller and The Huffington Post are going to continue on this Lynn pregnancy lead, because it allows them to keep drawing comparisons to Bristol Palin:

Is the economy to blame?

Clay Aiken coming out of the very shallow closet for People magazine did not earn the singer the multimillions that are typical when negotiating front page deals. While magazines and glossies engage in bitter bidding wars to get a first glimpse of Brangelina's spawn (the final payout was $14.5 million), Aiken's own cover earned the singer around $500k, which is half of what even non-celeb Jamie Lynn Spears was able to negotiate for selling the first pics of her illegitimate child to OK!.

And Clay's cover had both homosexuality admission AND baby pics!

Sign of the depressing economy or gay glass ceiling? More lukewarm responses, after the jump:

Little Squirts

There are approximately 12 pictures of Jamie-Lynn Spears' post-baby tahtahs floating around Louisiana right now, and the feds are looking to bust someone at Wal-Mart for peddling pornography. Just another day in the life of these classy Southern broads.

Spears' baby daddy Casey Aldridge took his digital camera chip into the superstore to get the pictures developed of Jamie Lynn breast-feeding their daughter Maddie, which is a totally normal thing to want pictures of, in order to show your daughter's future boyfriends when they come by the house.

Now it's believed that a security breach allowed a Wal-Mart employee to make copies of the pics with the intent to sell them online, which could land the culprit in federal prison if caught. Scandal!

And while we feel for Jamie-Lynn and Casey, there are two questions that this story raises:

Well, That's What She Should Have Said

Oh, Lynne Spears. Watching you on The Today Show trying to justify how badly you screwed up in raising Britney was one of the most entertaining things we've seen in quite some time.

A Battle For The Ages

The paparazzi have been having a tough go at it lately when it comes to celebrities in airports: First was the epic fight with Kanye West, and now the photogs have been duped by a Jamie Lynn Spears decoy. Just a note: If a Spears outsmarts you, you know it's time to pack it up and call it a day.

Five days, people, and the long-awaited, understandably mocked Lynne Spears memoir, Through the Storm, will be upon us.

The cover photo finds Spears staring pensively out of a window, thinking on some unknown turbulence, surely considering how her daughters’ money will help her carry on. And the tome’s content is just as ridiculous.

Would It Kill Jessica To Show Her Teeth?

okmagalba.jpg

OK! is quickly leaving behind the world of celebrity gossip to instead report exclusively on celebrity babies, as seen on the cover of the mag’s latest issue. After the horror of last week’s 80-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears feature, the admittedly beautiful Jessica Alba and baby Honor were a nice welcome this week — until Jess and her dim husband had to open their mouths.

Jamie Lynn Spears' baby pay day

okmagjamielynn.jpg

Tom and Katie. Uh huh. Nicole and Keith. Uh huh, uh huh. Madonna and Guy. Yep, uh huh, but where's … ohh, there she is! It's Ms. Jamie Lynn Spears, American's latest teenager mother, at last popping out her daughter and making good on the $1 million deal she inked with OK! for the first exclusive photos and interview with the new mom and Maddie. That we are now celebrating and rewarding young, unwed women having children is an absolute delight to see on today's newsstand. On the plus side, the kid looks nothing like big sis Britney, so she's already got one leg up in the world. [OK!]

Like the front page of a newspaper, how a website's news stories are laid out influences how visitors digest the information. And when your A1 slot goes to Britney's kid sis, well, that thing going on in Iraq is suddenly less relevant.

You know what you get when you're a celebrity and you sign an exclusive deal with a tabloid? Bad karma from the rest of the magazines.

Jamie Lynn Spears, who signed a $1 million exclusive deal with OK! for her pregnancy story and pics, is getting stabbed by Star with a dramatic cover story exclaiming, "Delivery Room Drama!" Since Spears is prohibited from playing ball with the other celeb weeklies, there's only one thing Star can do: deliver one piece of bad news after another. If only Spears hadn't signed with OK!, she could've scored some protection.

'It's A Blessing'

gmateenpreg.jpg

If you direct your attention to the left, you will see two teenage parents-to-be showing their enthusiasm during an interview on today’s Good Morning America. The girl is one of those rumored to have made a pact with her high school friends to get pregnant together — because it’s the new fun thing to do! — but she insists those reports are false. We tried to listen to her reasoning, but the excitement in her voice just overwhelmed us to the point where we fell asleep. Good luck with the kid.

To escape the paparazzi after giving birth, Jamie Lynn Spears supposedly hired a body double to exit the Mississippi hospital from one door while making a sneaky dash from another.

This report comes from OK! magazine, which, you might recall, has a $1 million exclusive deal with the 17-year-old celebrity sister for the first pics of her baby and all the soundbites that go along with something like that. So perhaps it wasn't Spears who hired the body double, but OK! magazine, which is very keen on protecting its investment.

With Britney by their side, Jamie Lynn Spears and fiancé Casey Aldridge welcomed a baby girl Maddie Briann this morning. This is bad news for brother Bryan, who was enjoying his first 3 minutes of fame. [People]

Actually, that bit of advice didn't even work for Edwin W. Merino, 30, the Los Angeles photographer who's been hanging around pregnant 17-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears a bit too much for her liking. Which is why Spears and fiance Casey Aldridge complained about his stalker-y ways around their home in Liberty, Miss., for which he was arrested. This is not Merino's first claim to fame, however. Working in the paparazzi biz for the past five years, he's also one of the photogs who snapped Britney without wearing any underwear. Which, these days, is about as notorious as having a Facebook account.

Bonnie Fuller's latest "Star magazine plug disguised as a Huffington Post item" rants, very typically, on the pater- and materfamilias of the Spears clan.

To Fuller, dad Jamie and mom Lynne are simply taking advantage of daughter Britney and Jamie Lynn's lifestyles, living in their homes, collecting their fees, and cashing in on any opportunity their offspring's fame affords them, even though neither of them are in very healthy states right now.

So what's Bonnie's advice?

So I say to Jamie and Lynne Spears, if you really want to prove your love to your daughters, how about trying to nix the reported deal to sell Jamie Lynn's upcoming baby pics for $1 million?

Interesting advice, coming from someone who is also said to have bid on those photos — and lost out to OK! magazine.

anything you can do, I can do better

avril_maximap_small.jpg

• Avril Lavigne proves she can skank it up for the cover of Maxim just as well as anyone in the cool clique of B-list celebrities.

• Christina Aguilera got a c-section because she wanted to keep her vag tight. Those weren't her words, but what she does say amounts to that.

• Tina Fey is hosting the first post-strike Saturday Night Live.

• Nicole Richie and Joel Madden hold onto to their outsider status by getting their coffee some place other than Starbucks.

• "Jamie Lynn Spears Is A Giant Whore" and other things her unborn child probably doesn't want to know.

• Ironic imprisonment of former Prison Break star is less amusing for Lane Garrison than it is for us.

Jessica Simpson: Not Dumped Yet

john-and-jess2.jpg

Since they didn’t get a chance to write about Heath Ledger’s last days, this week OK! covered America’s emotional train wreck, Jessica Simpson

In an article subtly titled “Jessica Dumped!,” OK! says that Tony Romo had left Simpson after the Cowboys lost in the playoffs. The article also claims that Jess and Ash were no longer sisters who were also BFF. F!

Not true at all, shouts the Simpson camp. Her lawyers say the OK! piece “is based on nothing more than rumor, gossip and innuendo." Um, yeah?

Hypocrisy

A spokeswoman for the Spears family went on the Today Show to go after Dr. Phil for "violating a family trust" by making a statement on Britney Spears.

We get that Dr. Phil has a lecherous avuncular thing going on, but still, how much trust could there be in a family that sells the story of a teen pregnancy to a second-tier tabloid? We're going with exactly zero.

FALSE PROMISES OK! mag told advertisers its lawsuit-inducing Jamie Lynn Spears preggers issue would sell two million copies, or twice its usual sell-thru. Except scan data shows it sold just 900,000 copies (or 1.3 million with subscriptions). Is it us, or are those numbers not the same? [WWD]
