Let's place our bets now, what will be the biggest tension-builder on Saturday Night Live tomorrow? Will it be Josh Brolin hosting to promote his George Bush-slamming W. movie (which he's already slated to do an impression of during the show) while Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin cameos on the same episode? Or will it be Andy Samberg getting punched in the face by a disgruntled Mark Wahlberg?

We guess the former: Wahlberg would never sully his "good name" by appearing on such an uncouth program as SNL *McCain eye-roll*.

Broadway Beckons

Will Ferrell revives his George Bush impression for his Broadway debut, "You're Welcome America. A Final Night With George W Bush." The show will be directed by Adam McKay, the co-founder of Ferrell's Funny or Die website (and also the other guy in the famous Landlord sketch for the site).

We'd say his biting off Josh Brolin's commander-in-chief style so soon after W. is a little tacky, but technically Ferrell did it first, during his run on Saturday Night Live. After the jump, one of the curly-haired comedy man's funnier impression of our current president:

Now he's a film critic too?

Former Press Secretary and defector from the Bush regime Scott McClellan reviews Oliver Stone's W. on its accuracy and entertainment value. And he likes it (for the most part)!

Not that McClellan the most objective viewer, seeing as how he literally wrote the book about George the 2nd being a naive, goofy pawn for his father, Karl Rove, and Dick Cheney.

But which of the White House cronies does McClellan continue to carry a grudge for, after all these years?

The reason for the season

Only a couple months ago, President George Bush was the biggest goof America had on its radar. Lovely, innocent times those were, before Sarah Palin came down from Alaska and gosh darnnit if she didn't just steal folks' hearts with her colloquial syntax and adorable doodles.

Back then, when the first trailer for Oliver Stone's biopic (is that what it is?) on our fearless leader hit the screens and the blogs, everyone was pissed. Conservatives were mad that W. made George Bush look like an alcoholic fratboy who got the presidency through nepotism, and the liberals were pissed because having a detrimental picture come out so close to election time would give the right something to rally against. So, everyone loses? Especially Josh Brolin, who got so into caricature as Jr. that he was arrested in Shreveport for bar fighting.

But in a twist worthy of M. Night Shyamalan, the first reviews are in, and it looks like W isn't the usual heavy-handed Stone affair that people were afraid of. In fact, it could have done with some more liberal interpretation:

Police Brutality

wright.jpg

As more and more details of the weekend arrest of actors Jeffrey Wright and Josh Brolin outside of a bar in Shreveport, La., where they are filming the G.W. Bush biopic W, come out, the story becomes more and more horrifying. The fight started when some “good ol’ boys” at the bar found out that the actors and crew were responsible for a Bush biopic with a liberal bent, and Wright joined in when racial slurs came into the mix. Apparently, once the police arrived, they also let loose with a racist tirade against Wright.

Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright, who are filming Oliver Stone's W together, were arrested with four others involved with the film after cops were called to the Stray Cat bar in Shreveport, Louisiana, to deal with a rowdy patron. It was Brolin.

"Detective Rod Demery, working as Shreveport Police Department public information officer over the weekend, said sending officers to handle unruly bar patrons isn’t unusual."

Congrats, Brolin. You're a statistic.
