You guys remember the Alycia Lane/Larry Mendte scandal, right? It wasn't that long ago that CBS3 anchor Mendte was accused of breaking into co-anchor Lane's email account and spreading all her drrrrty business (including sending naked pics of herself to a married coworker) to the gossip rags in Philly.
In the end, Mendte didn't get in that much trouble, while Lane had her career ruined, which may have been what prompted another disgraced Philly TV personality to get all crazy over one of his female coworkers.
Or maybe there just isn't enough hard news in Philly these days, the anchors are all turning it in on themselves:

WTXF 29 is Fox's Philadelphia O&O, and like most of Murdoch-owned network, it likes to do a little "investigimative journalism" from time to time. That was the case when Fox followed around Latrice Bryant, an aide for Philadelphia Councilman Wilson Goode, for ten days without her knowledge to do an "in-depth" study on city workers slacking off while taxpayers pay the bill.
Tailing somebody for 10 days without alerting her? Some might call that stalking. But Bryant has another name for it: racism.
After Bryant made a big to-do at a council meeting about Fox's paparazzi tactics, the station's news team, headed by anchor Jeff Cole, hit back with this awesome promo for the network's upcoming expose. Tonight at 10pm: It's not racism if you're upper middle class! CONTINUED »
• Philadelphia Channel 3 loves the dykes. Their "vacationing" Anchorwoman Alycia “with a y” Lane is less amorous toward them.
• Ron Paul's blimp is as confused as Ron Paul's presidency.
• Kanye West doesn't care about black people.
• Progress: Women can bartend in India. Less progress: women in India can now exploit themselves for tips.
• Naomi Campbell is now a model slash journalist, specializing in Q&As with dictators even crazier than she is.
• Facebook is taking over the world. Or not. Probably not.
We know why Channel 3 hired Alycia Lane. It's because she's car-crack-up beautiful, a size 2, and the camera adores her. … Lane is famous for her bikini pics, 55 jackets in her closet, her boyfriends and breakups, inappropriate e-mails to married men, Dr. Phil confessions and, since last Sunday, her alleged shameful language and a felony charge for punching a New York City cop.

Rumors from the Internet: KWY-TV news anchor Alycia Lane is probably not going to make it to a bigger market. The Philadelphia TV reporter allegedly punched a NYC cop in the face, after calling her a “dyke bitch.” Soon after, Lane was arrested.
Lane was in a cab with her DJ boyfriend, Chris Booker, and friends, and became impatient with a slow unmarked cop car ahead of them.
Well, on the plus side, her cheery on-camera demeanor just shows how talented she really is.
This weekend, we said goodbye to our Metrocards and went on a little road trip to see America. Along the way, we stopped at a Bennigan’s in Delaware for lunch. If you’re unfamiliar with the chain restaurant, it is sort of like Friday’s but worse.
On the way out, we saw two overweight, middle-aged women leave and go to their separate cars. For some reason, the incident struck us as deeply sad. Imagine having Saturday plans to meet your best gal pal for lunch at Bennigan’s. Anticipating Bennigan’s famous deep fried Monte Cristo sandwich while stuck in traffic is a fate worse than living in Staten Island.
But as unappealing as these women were, they weren’t even residents of the most busted city in America, which turns out to be Philadelphia. A survey found that the City of Brotherly Love is the least attractive city in the U.S., and among the least stylish and least active.
Well, any metropolis known primarily for a sandwich whose main ingredient is Cheez Whiz is bound not to be hot.
