FOR THE RECORD When Liz Smith told the Observer that "some Web site comes along and says, ‘Liz Smith will sleep with anybody,'" she meant our very own Queerty. Glad to hear you're staying hip with the blogs, Ms. Smith.

We at Jossip are always shooting our mouth off to our gay little brother, Queerty. And one of our ideas about blogging made into his interview with Avram Finklestein, the guy who created the logo above. To be honest, the rest of the interview is more interesting than our little Web 2.0 theory. [Queerty]

• Kirstie Alley is going to launch her own weight-loss brand. Insert joke about fat women here.

• The new Dancing With The Stars "stars" leave some wattage to be desired.

The Baltimore Sun will launch a youth aimed tabloid. Because that's just that city needs: More trash.

• "Who stuffs Armani better?," a Queerty poll.

• The audacity of hope sneezes: Barack Obama has a cold.

• Martha Stewart takes over Emeril Lagasse. The people in PR will have to figure out how to incorporate "Bam!" with "a good thing" without getting vulgar.

OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER Hey undecided voters, what's going on? Just basking in the attention of the presidential hopefuls? Yeah, that's chill. Enjoy it. But before you head to the polls, check out Stereohyped and Queerty's write-up of all the candidates. Where 25 months of campaigning failed, these rundowns will succeed.

Over at Queerty, they're always encourage a Positive Mental Attitude, even when they're acting kind of PMSy.

Today's interview with Air America reporter Rachel Maddow is all about PMA. An anecdote about reporting for MSNBC shows the importance of staying upbeat and also not passive aggressively insulting Keith Olbermann:

So, I showed up that night and walked into the make-up room and there are Kelly O’Donnell, an anchor I don’t know and Keith Olbermann sitting in the make-up room and I walked in and, like an idiot, without thinking, say, “Aw, I feel like I’m getting bumped up from the kid’s table at Thanksgiving,” which was a dumb thing to say because A. self-deprecation doesn’t help in a professional context if you’re trying to seem like a bigger deal than you are and, B, I’m subliminally calling them old, which is not a nice thing. But that’s honestly how I felt: I get to be in the adult media! I do feel like - I dress like a first grader, I’m a big lesbian, I’m not pretty like a Barbie doll and I come from talk radio, which is the wild west of media… In a lot of ways I do not fit the mold, but I get a lot of air time and I have a great time doing it and always really happy to be up there, otherwise I wouldn’t do it at all.

So true. If you don't love yourself first, no one will love you second.

CULTURE WAR AT JOSSIP HQ While we thought Bell X1 was lowest common denominator indy crap, our gay little brother over at Queerty loved it, and made it his morning aural. Queerty's editor lives in Park Slope and occasionally writes for the Huffington Post. We have bangs and are wearing stripes. Also, we told Andrew about VSL in the first place. Whose taste do you trust?

Bottoms Up

spencer-pratt.jpg

When you treat girls like shit, men are sure to notice. And gay porn mogul Michael Lucas has taken notice of Hills villain, and homeless outreacher, Spencer Pratt.

“He was born to be in a gay-porn blockbuster," Lucas tells In Touch. "Lucas Entertainment would do anything to be able to center our next major all-male production on Spencer Pratt."

And we would do anything to see it. With Blonde Ambition already taken (and bombed), how about I Became Famous Through Manipulating Women And Now I’m Starring In Gay Porn?

Well, it was a nice run. Two weeks after returning to radio, Don Imus already ticked off the gays. Yesterday, he asked the afternoon drive guy Jay Severin if he was gay because he didn’t like Mike Huckabee. [Ed: What’s gay about hating thinned out fat people?]

And this is with the delay. Imus is back, baby!

Queerty Exclusive: An anonymous reader has sent Queerty a clip of the Emmy-winning talk show host Dick Cavett soliciting sex from another man.

In the video, Cavett gives his market price for a range for actives: penis flashing, $100; nipple tweaking, $200; fanny smacking, $300 and head giving, $1000.

It’ll be hard to figure out a wide-stance excuse for this one.

Watching this video of Janice Dickinson calling Tyra Banks fat, we realized that maybe we were better off being a nerd in high school than being a queen bee. Hot girls are mean.

Well, some former models themselves go and some don’t. But they do share one thing: an abject refusal to give up their fame.

We heard about Project Runway contestant Jack Mackenroth even before the series started. Spoilers have it that the sewing hunk leaves in the fifth episode when he develops an HIV Staph infection. Even though Mackenroth is still in primetime, he’s bolstered his B-level celebrity by posing naked.

Oh, Jack, you’re supposed to save those naked pictures for after the show ends.

brian_williams_katrina.jpg

Things got a little awk for NBC golden boy Brian Williams on Monday night when he described marriage as being “under attack.” For those who missed the 2004 election, the wording was uncomfortable similar to Christian right’s rhetoric against gay marriage.

We thought bad writing, not a large scale anti-gay conspiracy at NBC was to blame for the news script. Brian Williams, at least in his NBC approved blog post, agrees:

I was the recipient today of several emails from well-intentioned people, telling me I was being attacked in parts of the blogosphere for something I wrote and said on the air in last night’s broadcast … My meaning? Our national divorce rate, which is currently somewhere between 40 and 50 percent. Others took it upon themselves to decide that I was somehow attacking gay marriage.

With that scandal settled, some have taken issue with Williams’s use of “being attacked in parts of the blogosphere,” claiming they were simply stating a problem with Williams choice of words. We, on the other hand, take issue with Williams’s use of blogosphere. That expression is so 2004.

Brian Williams’s luck couldn’t last forever. After a well-received gambit on SNL and continued success in the ratings game, his introduction to a segment on Queen Elizabeth’s long marriage to Prince Philips has got the gays switching channels.

In the piece, Williams said, “In an era when marriage is under attack, the United Kingdom is these days celebrating a 60th wedding anniversary: the longest marriage of any monarchy.”

The wording is scandal-inducingly vague.

Despite now being against gay marriage, Mitt Romney is still desperate for the gay vote. According to Nielsen Online, AdRelevance, the presidential candidate had banner ads on gay.com. Well, if Romney is elected, he'll be able to use this anecdote to relate to the US Army, which also accidentally bought ads on a gay website. Maybe Romney's minions should keep a list of groups he doesn't support so they won't get confused when it's time to buy ad space. [Queerty]
