Tina Brown continues riding that novelty money train that is ex-Hollinger Inc. owner and current incarcerated blogger Conrad Black over at her Daily Beast. We truly hope Brown is throwing a couple bucks Black's way, because we hear that white collar cons trade in stocks, not cigarettes, for special privileges in the yard.
Anywhoozle, Black is writing in to say that he's turned his pug nose up at Michael Wolff's memoir on Rupert Murdoch The Man Who Owns the News, going as far in his snobbery as to name his piece, "The Rupert I know."
Black's article is much more succinct than Wolf's, and contains such first-person factoids as the Australian's thoughts on Ronald Reagan, "He is a cunning, charming, old peasant."
Zing! Well, better peasant than prisoner, Conrad old chum. Maybe when you get sprung, you can start to work on a memoir of your own…that is, if you aren't too busy working on Tina Brown's chain-gang.
Say what you will about Barack Obama's plan to enslave all American Christians and make broodmares out of blonde females, you've got to admit his marketing team is really, really good. Like, Nike in the late 90s and early aughts good.
That One's newest ads make the case for an Obama presidency not by highlighting common Democratic rhetoric, but by focusing on the words of two superstars of the GOP—one from the past and one from the present.
James Dobson totally has a crush on potential vice-president Sarah Palin.
Dobson, the right-wing leader who once swore he wouldn't vote for "centrist" John McCain, has been absolutely gushing over Palin's place on the Republican ticket.
In fact, Dobson says he hasn't been this excited since the days of Ronald Reagan.
This just in, from Queerty:
Poor Ronald Reagan. Not only did the Republican former President lose a painful battle to Alzheimer’s in 2004, but The Washington Post passes on word that the Gipper has died again.
They also make sure you guys know they made a mistake in a June 6th Reagan-related article. Not as big a mistake as resurrecting a dead President, but you know…
Our condolences to the WaPo editor responsible for this unmitigated disaster. And, of course, to Nancy.
