Sarah Jessica Parker NYC

Anyone who has seen Will & Grace knows — there is a huge draw to moving into a New York apartment previously owned by a celebrity. The chances of meeting them, and then going to live like a movie star, or at least in their home, keeps people tripping over themselves for their little piece of the famous people pie.

A catchy tale is an often-used tool for marketing real estate in New York — where the chances that someone famous lived in a building, or designed it, are way better than in some small town in the Midwest.

So actually we should thank celebs for living here. Were it not for Sarah Jessica Parker, Drew Barrymore, and Woody Allen taking residence all over Manhattan, everyone would just move to Muncie, Indiana instead of living in New York.

Britney Spears and Baby

• When we saw there was a dating service called Millionaire Match we were really excited. Then we found out guys like Charlie Sheen peruse it, and … well, the excitement subdued. [Gatecrasher]

Sarah Jessica Parker's 19th-century farmhouse is featured on an eight-page spread. Because it's not big or fancy … just simple plain Carrie Bradshaw style. [Page Six]

Meredith Vieira admits that she's really not cut out to be a journalist. Yeah, Mer, we know — that's why you're going to Today and Katie Couric is going to CBS.

• Kabbalah is so over. For Britney Spears, the new religion is worshipping your baby. Well, at least it's still in the Jewish realm of things. [Britney Spears via PITNB]

Sarah Jessica Parker shoes

Don't you hate when actors and actresses drag your name through the mud? And by drag your name through the mud, we mean, make you more famous than you ever dreamt you could be.

Now that everyone and their Gastineu clad mom wants a pair of Manolo Blahniks the designer is totally fuming. We don't claim to understand this fashion world, but at some high society meta meta riche fest, where an intimate group gathered in celebration of Eric Boman's newest photographic shrine to the designer, the HBO hit's influence over the shoe's popularity was brought up. And just as quickly, shot down.

“Manolo thinks—which is very unfair—he thinks it’s vulgarized his name,” said Mr. Boman, who has a boyish, fine-featured face.

You know, because Sarah Jessica Parker wrote Sex and the City, she was wholly responsible for putting Blahniks on the map. That tramp.

“He says,”—here Mr. Boman traded his casual chatty tone for a comically grandiloquent one—“‘I’m sure that that Miss Parker is a perfectly nice woman,’ and, he says, ‘I have met her, as a matter of fact’—I think she presented him with some award, you know, and she is a very nice woman, but he just thought that…”—Mr. Boman went into silent reflection for a moment—“It’s an aspect of his work that he doesn’t feel is his work?”

Yeah, see, we didn't prep for crazy talk with Cindy Adams' column, today, so, we're not even sure what to say about this. But, those Observer folks speak whack, so you can get the rest of the "how Sarah Jessica Parker ruined Manolo Blahnik's life" story from them.

Emma Watson

• So what if Harry Potter star Emma Watson pretends to drink beer? When we were 15, "our friends" closed their eyes, threw their heads back, and the beer actually went down our, er, their throats. What a wuss. [Gawker]

• How could a show staring Julia Roberts not totally sell out its headline to her name? We mean, everything's about Julia, isn't it? [NYDN]

• Uh, this rumor has to be a lie, because it is actually impossible not to like Sarah Jessica Parker. [The Superficial]

• The director of Katie Holmes' new movie finally realized what we knew all along … nobody wants to see her have sex. Not even her fake husband. [Access Hollywood]

Sarah Jessica Parker

• Maybe it was the drugs, maybe it was the threeway with Jude Law and Sadie Frost and maybe, well, it was more drugs like that fist-sized lump of coke she snorted with Naomi Campbell, but yes, Kate Moss is out of that H&M gig. Oh, but that's not the news! Rather, it's that now ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty was spotted snogging another man.

• There will be no Comeback comeback for Lisa Kudrow. HBO has canned her post-Friends effort because of other "commitments," otherwise known as "shitty ratings." But the "we don't care about ratings" network can't say that, of course.

Sarah Jessica Parker clocks in as Gotham's highest-earning female with an estimated $38 million year (thanks, Gap!) followed by Kimora Lee Simmons (thanks, uh, Russell!).

Naomi Campbell is usually tearing worlds apart, but her Fashion For Relief charity catwalk brought together the feuding Tyson Beckford and Diddy, who shook hands and hugged. Though we didn't see Diddy hand Tyson that $600,000 check he owes him.

• To go with the imagined Louis Vuitton toilet paper is this actual (yes, they really make this) Dior toothpaste cozy. (via)

• Party photog Patrick McMullan might not wind up with his own reality show, by his own accord. His talks with New Line cooled when he started assessing the potential legal issues, as in getting the A-list to sign even more releases.

• And don't forget to attend the WYSIWYG show on Sept. 27 (that's a week from today!). Catch Jossip's editor David Hauslaib waxing on his worst roommate experience that, in all hopefulness, will pale in comparison to yours. Read David's interview at The Precog Blog and purchase your tickets in advance here. And while we're dropping gratuitous plugs, today is also David's birthday, so let the gift baskets commence.
