Showbiz Tonight Interrupts Coverage of Talentless Hacks for 3-Minute Segment on Talentless Hacks

Does the responsibility fall on us to point out the irony of a television program like Showbiz Tonight doing a story on talentless celebs who are famous for being famous? Three years after this story was relevant, A.J. Hammer introduces us to the Paris, Kim, LC, and Ashley Dupres of the world — all of which keep shows like Showbiz Tonight padded with enough content for a daily show.

Bonnie Fuller Traces Gossip Back to the Egyptians

We sometimes watch Showbiz Tonight to stare longingly into A.J. Hammer's eyes, wherein our TiVo gets plenty of play using the pause and instant replay functions. Otherwise, we're using it to needlessly punish our interns, and last night it was Intern Wendy's playdate with spin. Lucky for her, there was actually something worthwhile to watch, in between Daily Newsies Lloyd Grove and William Sherman blabbering the Jared Paul Stern scandal into a pint size report of flackdom gone wrong. Bonnie Fuller, after all, was on to promo her just-released The Joys Of Much Too Much.

Bonnie Fuller, on gossip's Egyptian roots:

We can`t help it. Our societies have been fascinated since the dawn of time, since the time of the pharaohs. People were wondering what the pharaoh`s wife was wearing and what was going on between the two of them.

On Brangelina:

There's always been an obsession with celebrities' kids. And again going back to royalty. I mean, remember when Princess Diana was awaiting the birth of Prince William? That was the most anticipated baby of that century. Now we're in a new century. And I`d say the Brangelina and Tomkat babies are the babies of the century.

On The Joys of Doing Too Much:

Well, I`ve definitely given up, hey manicures every week, gardening which I love, chatting with my girl friends. But you know what? There`s unconventional ways that you can fit things in. For instance, I mean, I`ve been seen carrying groceries into the finest restaurants in New York, because that`s the only time I had to shop.

Noticebly abesent from the conversation: How she handles exorbitant freebie offers.
