What is WonderGlen??

How to explain this video? It's been out for awhile, and it's got to be some sort of viral marketing campaign for this website WonderGlen, which in itself is a giant portal of weird/funny/creepy videos that supposedly tell a story of a reality television crew.

But the weird thing about WonderGlen is that no one can figure out who is behind it, or what it's marketing for. Is it the cable-access-parody Tim and Eric? Would it be too obvious to assume it's the Wonder Showzen people? Or some entirely new group of web-outcasts?

Below, another, even more disturbing video from the site, this time based on one of the team's "projects," entitled Hobbit Holes.

Newest Viral Video Or Early Onset Alzheimer's?
Crazy pants!

Steve Guttenburg running, sans pants, through Central Park. He's giving Dan Akroyd a run for his crazy crystal-head vodka money.

Crystal Head Vodka Conspiracy: Viral Video, Ghostbusters III Promotion, or Dan Akroyd's Serious Craziness?
A conundrum

By now you've hopefully seen the ad for Dan Akroyd's Crystal Head Vodka. It's eight minute long, and filled with crazy nonsense about the occult and psuedo-science and water from Finland.

While some are speculating that it's an early viral video for Ghostbusters 3, it seems that there hasn't even been casting, or an entire script, written for that film yet.

So maybe it's just Akroyd pulling a goof? The part at the end of the preposteriously-long video seems like the tip-off, where they talk about straining the pure vodka through diamonds to get a unique taste. At first you are like "haha, who does that?" but then you remember, "whoops, people actually do that." And Akroyd has been known to promote liquor up in Canada.

Third theory: That Dan Akroyd has lost his friggin mind. Perhaps: it is somewhat more plausible that Akroyd went insane rather than actually participated in something funny. I mean, this was the same guy who's been selling his soul since Crossroads.

Obama Is Majoring at the JFK School For Winning in Media
The Medium is the Message

So if you watched last season of Mad Men (and you did), there was that whole subplot of Nixon vs. Kennedy in 1960, and how to market a candidate (Nixon) that was less media-aware than his opponent. The presidential debates coincided neatly with the rise in personal televisions and mass media, meaning for the first time Americans could watch the great debates unfold from home, which some speculate is the reason Kennedy won. Kennedy was way hotter than Nixon.

Similarly, today the race to the White House is being fought on different technological battleground than it's been in previous years. And like JFK, Barack Obama knows how to play the new mediums to his advantage. The MSM may not always like it, but Obama's camp is changing the face of electoral process in a way that Marshall McLuhan would have been proud of. Here's how:
