Lithuanian model Auguste Abeliunaite/Tomasuite (a stage name?) cried throughout her entire walk down the runway for Jil Sanders' Milan show. Which is understandable, since Sanders had suited the poor dear in a brown wool jacket with "fluorescent orange heels." Zut alors, we'd cry to if it happened to us! Although one commenter on the Wall Street Journal blog claims to know the real reason Auguste was stoically bawling.

I worked backstage at the Jil Sander show. The reason Auguste was in tears was because the shoes were extremely uncomfortable and high. She had broken her foot a while back and she had a bad cramp in one of her feet whilst walking on the catwalk. She was scared that she would fall because of the high and uncomfortable shoes. I can imagine the the pain and the fear of falling made her cry.
