If you have Dish Networks, plz turn the channel to 73, the one labeled OBAMA. That's right, the Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama has his own television station, although it's really boring: "The channel plays his two-minute ad laying out his economic plan on a loop, over and over."
Ugh, how Big Brother of him. While the campaign is taking a gamble with their money in buying up an entire station's worth of airtime to just play one commercial (not even like, a couple commercials and then maybe the Yes We Can video?) the only explanation is that this tactic makes sure that everyone sees the same commercial, and can view it whenever they choose. "Want to hear about Obama's economic policy? Turn to Channel 73!"
Um, except isn't that the point of the Internet in general, being able to type in a URL and watch a video whenever, wherever? And the cost-ratio of uploading a two-minute clip onto YouTube versus buying a TV station is… well, whatever the Obama camp is paying for the network divided by free.
If you wanted to watch Obama's thoughts on the economy but don't want to pay for a television (because you don't own one, because who still owns a TV?), the video is after the jump. Just play it on repeat all day and get the full television experience:

Please update your article. There are now several ads on the channel, including the montage that introduced him at the Democratic Convention.
Duh! The channel just went UNofficially live yesterday, so what do you expect? Do you expect real programming before the channel is even officially live? Research before writing, they teach that in eighth grade.
Whether there is one commercial or a hundred, the point remains that there are better ways to advertise than buying an entire network's worth of time.
I'd rather watch a log roll down a hill.
