Hey guys, sorry we're late, did we miss anything with that whole Karl Rove interview with the New York Times? I know we were all looking forward to the day when the Fox News commentator and former Deputy Chief of Staff opened up to the world and revealed his true identity as a giant three-eyed snake with wings, but…what's that? Rove refused to answer most of the journalists questions, even over email?
Well, did he give any indication of why he would refuse to talk to the Times, other than the paper's blatant liberal bias?
"I don’t mean to be rude but I have so much on my plate that my brain explodes when you ask questions like how much of my time I spend on each of my activities or how did I apply skills to my new chapter, et cetera. I can answer simple questions of fact but I am stretched through the election.”
So scrap the interview idea and let's read this interesting profile piece on the man for whom the adjective "Rovian" was coined, wherein different political figures called the Bush buddy everything from "nice" (Hillary Clinton adviser Howard Wolfson) to "the devil himself" (former Senator Max Cleland). Hopefully Rove won't see this particular piece on him, as the ex-senior adviser "tends to follow what is being said about him, somewhat obsessively I think," according to Scott McClellan, who should know better than anyone that the first rule of Karl Rove is you do not talk about Karl Rove.
