The Big Three Black Leaders Who Need to Go

With the elegant Barack Obama's impending takeover of the United States government, a new wind is blowing in black America. Already, MTV has decided to ">do away with its more gangster-y fare, choosing instead to focus on "themes of affirmation and accomplishment." And rapper Talib Kweli says he believes Obama will inspire change amongst the drinking, smoking, pimping hip hop community.

America as it once was is no more, but black America specifically is on the verge of a sea change the likes of which we haven't seen in decades. If we want this momentum to continue, one thing is certain: we need to put our old black leaders to pasture, where they should have been for years now. They won't like it, but they haven't really liked anything ever, especially being effective.

Spouting ignorance from pulpits and soapboxes ("hymies" and "homos"), the traditional black leader in the modern United States – the go-to for the "African American perspective" on CNN – is generally the embodiment of bark being worse than bite. Without the organization and intellect of Martin Luther King Jr., these men are left with only King's skill for passionate rhetoric, and to see them rant and rave while actually DOING very little is to know exactly why shit hasn't gotten much better for many black people in the past few decades. Not to mention the fact that, oftentimes, these people's public fights appear to have little to do with African Americans in society and a lot to do with religion and personal conjecture.

Here are the worst three offenders.

Jesse Jackson

Jesse Jackson's righteous bravado comes from his years spent under the broad wing of his mentor, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The young southerner proved a favorite of MLK, receiving several key appointments and promotions under the activist and eventually becoming the national head of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Sadly, the day Dr. King was killed, so was Jackson's dignity. Like an attention-starved lunatic, Jackson appeared on Today the day after the assassination in a sweater still covered in King's blood. Cute. And he's gotten worse since then.

Jackson's history with Jews belies his supposed anti-bigot stance – he once called New York City "Hymietown" and said he was "sick and tired of hearing about the Holocaust" – and his extramarital affair and subsequent lovechild bely his supposed Baptist piety. Thank god his causes are cockamamie enough anymore that you don't have to listen to his hypocritical ass: As of late, Jackson has pledged to pay for the college education of the lying exotic dancer in the Duke lacrosse fiasco, fought to keep Terry Schiavo on her respirator and said he'd like to cut Barack Obama's testicles off.

Louis Farrakhan

Geez, do we ever wish this guy would have just continued being a calypso musician; everyone would have been happier. Instead, he's turned into a raging bigot whose agenda further poisons America's relationship with Islam. Great.

Besides constantly calling Judaism a "gutter religion" and homosexuality a sin, Farrakhan went on the record in 2002 to say that he supported Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe's decision to seize white-owned land in his nation, an event that's still destroying the former Rhodesia to this day. Two years prior, Farrakhan also said white people are "potential humans."

Al Sharpton

"I learned manhood from James Brown. I always say that James Brown taught me how to be a man." -Al Sharpton, on real man James Brown, who was arrested on numerous domestic violence charges throughout his life

Al Sharpton is a pure egoist who's as slick as his hair. Realizing early on that the best place from which to make people pay attention to you is a pulpit, Sharpton became ordained as a minister at the age of nine, and he's been skating along ever since. After dropping out of college, Sharpton went on to tour manage for great American James Brown. After that, the protests! So many protests and speaking engagements that it's difficult to account for them all. However, our favorites include the time Al called Socrates a "Greek homo" before an audience of college students and the time he said Mormon presidential candidate Mitt Romney didn't really believe in God. What a guy!

Perhaps if he didn't puff his chest out so much, it wouldn't be so easy to stab him in it, as an assailant did at a protest in Brooklyn in 1991. Sharpton, ever the forgiving soul, pleaded for leniency for his attacker before suing the shit out of the NYPD for not protecting him well enough, eventually winning $200,000 in the suit. Had he actually been able to get his hands on all that cocaine he was videotaped attempting to buy in 1983, maybe Big Al wouldn't have needed such a large settlement.

ummmm - judging by your name, i wouldn't conclude that you are a black person, therefore, what business is this of yours? since you note that it's a new day, please also note that the day is over when black people give a you-know-what about the opinions white people have of our leaders whom man of us respect.

it's understandable that some whites would be more accepting of a non-threatening obama, because he has not and apparently will not, place any demands on you that you don't want to deal with. he has not, and will not, deal with the deep issues of "race" in this country that many white people are too arrogant or blind to address and would rather think that "everything's all better now." well, it's not. obama in the white house is not going to stop white police officers from racially profiling all the black and brown people they've become accustomed to profiling. obama in the white house is not going to to anything to reduce the disporportionate number of blacks tied up in the criminal justice system.

but white people, like you (???) don't want to deal with those kinds of topics because (1) it's not your people suffering these injustices and (2) you don't really care about black issues in the first place, choosing rather (like the non-threatening obama) to view things as "we're all one people." well, we're not and for that reason, we need black leaders like jackson, sharpton and farrakhan …. and younger ones of like mindset …. who serve as a reminder that justice is still not prevalent in the land and equally applied to all -regardless of race, color, creed or economic status.

there are no doubt real and legitimate criticisms that can be made against the three men you mentioned but you can best believe that you - being a white person (???) - are not the one to make them. at least, not for most in the black community. but then, your message really wasn't for them in the first place, was it?

If you're going to judge someone by their name (what?) you should at least find out what it is. It's on Jossip's main page and it's Cord JEFFERSON. He is black.
You are also racist. A white person can't care about black issues? Maybe they can't fully understand what it's like to be black, but they can certainly have a rational and empathetic views about race relations.
Just so you know, Cord never said Obama will end all racism and create perfect harmony. He just said it's a step towards racial euqality. If you read Stereohyped, he said that it's foolish to believe Obama will fix all black issues.
And he agrees black people need leaders. On Stereohyped, he wrote about how great it is that in the UK they have a new program that finds black leaders to mentor young blacks. He's saying blacks need good leaders, not no leaders at all. Doy.
And, actually, not enough people have criticized these three black leaders for letting their race, and anyone with a little decency, down.

Cord Jefferson barely acknowledges his blackness, and is the last person anyone in the black community would take leadership advice from. I completely agree with the forst poster. @Rick Roberts: It's kinda sad that it took a black man being elected President of the U.S. for Talib Kweli and many in the black communities to say this will inspire young black men and women to do and be better. Sure this is major history, after all it is the highest office in the land, but apparently they are not aware of the many successful black men and women in American business and medicine who have also overcome some serious odds. I personally I don't think Obama being elected will change anything in the smoking, drinking hip hip community. His win is another excuse for them to drink and smoke more under the guise of a celebration.

My only statement on the article is the common thread that the author is being racist and that three notable civil rights readers are somehow their question of their usefulness remains.
The question remains though, not, can black people be racist, but can white people experience racism.
Whiteness doesn't have the same history of oppression that blackness has. Its like when gay person calls a hetero a breeder, doesnt have the same overtone or oain as the F-bomb word. A black person calling a white person a cracker and white person you seeing the N-bomb. It doesnt have the same meaning.
Those three are civil rights leaders and represent the experience of many black ppl in america, they can't be dismissed solely for the fact they call it for what it is. Barack Obama is a bargainer, they are challengers and just because white america like bargainers better doesn't mean black ppl are going to dismiss the challengers whiteness and white privilige.
By the way i am white and I have the utmost respect for Al, Louis and Jesse. They ahve all been leaders in their movement and should not be dismissed out of hand because their views aren't the same as others

Here's the deal then. If black people are so very upset at the idea of idea of white people trying to be empathetic to their struggles, or at least create a dialog; then why don't we make it a rule that straight people silence themselves about gay issues? They obviously can't understand or empathize at all. Why don't we all live in separate bubbles never trying to reach out to each other. Sounds great to me. As a matter of fact, why don't we all just constantly fight, never grow, and continue to hate with no apparent reason. Yes that's what I call progress. Is it really going to be 2009? Wow.

Imagine the outrage that many readers and contributors to this and other gay sites would have if there were a post entitled "The Big Three Gay Leaders Who Must Go" on a website which does not have a particularly gay audience and is oriented toward some other group (black Americans, a particular religious denomination, a human rights group, a community organization, etc.), and that all sorts of readers were weighing in on the subject. Many of us would be legitimately angry that some non-gay forum had decided to publicly debate who should be leaders of the gay community, even if we agreed with some of the arguments. Regardless of the race of the writer and/or the merits of his/her views (and the views of all those commenting), the inital post here is out of place.

Besides that, he is right. We accept that these men have been important and impactful to civil rights, but to deny that they have also profited (and thusly, been corrupted) from its profits is naive…white person writing it or not. We are not a monolithic people…we don't need to accept just anything from any ol' black leader….and when you fuck up, you deserve to be called to task.

No. 56 · LGC65 It's the one who has not life and keeps chaing her usernames

Reasons we called you stupid and racist:
1. “ummmm - judging by your name, i wouldn't conclude that you are a black person, therefore, what business is this of yours?”
You judged someone’s race by their name. Would you know Russell Peters is an Indian just by hearing his name? It gets much more pathetic when it becomes obvious that you don’t even know Cord’s full name. Cord has a last name very common in the black community.
2. “since you note that it's a new day, please also note that the day is over when black people give a you-know-what about the opinions white people have of our leaders whom man of us respect.”
Then you proceed to go on and on about how it’s wrong for Cord to talk about shitty black leaders because you think he’s white. You don’t even know his ethnicity.
3. “it's understandable that some whites would be more accepting of a non-threatening obama, because he has not and apparently will not, place any demands on you that you don't want to deal with.”
Still going on about how white Cord is. Then you say that Cord doesn’t wish to help end racial tensions and inequalities, even though all of his posts prove this assertion absurd. You also overgeneralize and make it seem like no white people could possibly care to assist struggling ethnic minorities. This prejudging an ethnic group is called RACISM. (Not all whites are racist. Not all blacks are uneducated.)
4. “he has not, and will not, deal with the deep issues of "race" in this country that many white people are too arrogant or blind to address and would rather think that "everything's all better now." well, it's not. obama in the white house is not going to stop white police officers from racially profiling all the black and brown people they've become accustomed to profiling. obama in the white house is not going to to anything to reduce the disporportionate number of blacks tied up in the criminal justice system.”
You go on and on about how Obama won’t make race relations faultless as if Cord said that Obama would. This is arrogant and completely useless. This post doesn’t assert that Obama will fix all race issues.
5. “but white people, like you (???) don't want to deal with those kinds of topics because (1) it's not your people suffering these injustices and (2) you don't really care about black issues in the first place, choosing rather (like the non-threatening obama) to view things as "we're all one people."”
Again, you keep talking about people like Cord who are all white and too selfish and weak and ignorant to care about black issues. Again, HE’S NOT WHITE and you it’s RACIST to talk about all white people like they all want blacks to struggle.
6. “ well, we're not and for that reason, we need black leaders like jackson, sharpton and farrakhan …. and younger ones of like mindset …. who serve as a reminder that justice is still not prevalent in the land and equally applied to all -regardless of race, color, creed or economic status.”
You state the obvious. Really? Justice is still not prevalent and equally applied to all? Cord points this out often. It’s, uh, his job. Sereohyped was a site that he wrote for dedicated to talking about the obstacles black people have to constantly overcome. You also presume that he doesn’t think it’s important for black leaders to have role-models when this post is about how crucial it is for black people to have true role-models. Not just dumbass showboats. (I also previously stated he expressed how wonderful it is that in the UK they have programs that find black leaders for black youth.)
7. “there are no doubt real and legitimate criticisms that can be made against the three men you mentioned but you can best believe that you - being a white person (???) - are not the one to make them. at least, not for most in the black community. but then, your message really wasn't for them in the first place, was it?”
HE’S NOT A WHITE PERSON, genius. Your premise is fallacious and the entire comment makes no sense. And the message was that it’s important for blacks to have responsible leaders. It’s a message for blacks and, ultimately, for humanity.

Then you go on to say that we’re racist because we “threw in” the term “racist.” That makes no sense. Because we called out your racism, it doesn’t make us closeted bigots. Weird that you called us “paranoid” (assuming this post was written by a white man trying to bring blacks down) and “infantile” (refusing to acknowledge that Cord isn’t white after you assumed he was based on his first name) and called yourself “rational” when your only proof as to why this article is racist is that it was written by a white dude (and then that was debunked).

excuse me, but how have i responded arrogantly about stereohyped or even about cord? and you say i'm uninformed? the only thing i said about stereohyped was "whatever stereohyped is." other than that i made no comment about the site so how you go wayyyyy off on a tangent about my arrogant comments about stereohyped, and cord, is just another reason i'm easily dismissing everything else you said.

to #56, whoever you are …. i've posted as lgc65 and only that in this topic but if you in your PARANOIA have a need to believe otherwise, do your thing.

before i dismiss the majority of what you posted, as you attempt to point out my "stupid", "racist" comments, i'm just going to deal with these few things.

anyone who comes to this article does not see "cord jefferson's" name anywhere on the page. the only name that is on this page that looks like the author is "david hauslaib," genius (as you said to me). now that does not look like, read like, or sound like the name of a black man and that is the name, genius (as you said to me), that i was referring to.

other than that, i find it strange that you would presume to call me "stupid" when that's the very word that may come to many minds about you now that it should be clear how stupid your comments and (erroneous) ASSumptions are. and like the other poster, since i don't waste a lot of my time dealing with irrational minds who don't even know what they're talking about since they're running their mouths about things that aren't even true, i see no reason to deal with anything else you posted, or will post to me.

Abraham Lincoln said "a house divided against itself cannot stand". China willl contunue to be no. 1 because AMERICA is too racist and discrimnatory to stand. AMERICA's chicken continue to come home to roost. The middle passage, slavery and segragation killed millions of black people now after giving america 200 years of free labor(slavery) the black ghetto descendents are killing whites. Whites ran mexicans off their ancestorial land now mexicans are outnumbering them on those lands. For many years white america denied black people the right to vote now black america is deciding the election.
Im sorry to disopiont you but only black people can decide their leaders not others. Black people need to to do exactly the oppposite of what the white supremacy system tell them to do.
The problems of black americans and the black community are not because they are black but because they are american. These problems are america's problems not black people problems.
what do you expect of a community when its president (Reagan)sells drugs in its community in an effort to fund dictators (Saddam Hussein) killing of their own people (Kurds) with bio gases bought from AMERICA.
AMERICA will continue to fall like ROME, and ENGLAND did before it.
CHINA is the new black.

I agree 100%.

I did Cord's writting but I think he could've used better examples-more ruthless ones to do with the corruptions these guys have been part of..

It feels to rushed and this IS a blog but a few loose ends need tightened up.

But like I said, you're right, the longer we keep on making excuses, the further we will be or will never move forward…

But ho hum, some knee jerk comments in here, wisely makes one realise we need to work on the concept of a) what does it mean to be black…?

david hauslaib, i'm curious about something. why is it that you have had the forthcomingness and courage to post in this thread under your own name, assuming the person posting under your name is you, yet cord jefferson has been either unwilling or unable or too scared to do the same? (under his own name, that is. i'm wondering now if the name-changing person who posted to me several times here is cord, who is too ???? to use his real name).

anyway, this seems like it all would have been solved from the get go if cord had of come in, posting under his own name, saying, "hold up! i wrote this piece and i'm black." but for some reason …. he didn't do that. tell him, he doesn't have to be scared next time. he can come right on out of the closet, so to speak, and make himself known. i already saw a picture of him in a red dress and lipstick so there's no need for him to hide himself, or use different handles to conceal his identity. which, i still don't even know why he felt/feels the need to do so, but hey! whatever floats his boat.

and lastly, i seriously think you should make it a standard procedure to put some kind of "written by" or "by" byline on your blog postings. people like me who come to your site only see "david hauslaib's jossip" at the top of the page which makes whatever appears on the page look like a column by, guess who? david hauslaib.

No. 64 · say what?

egad, lgc65, you really need to quit the caffeine.

it's actually pretty funny reading your posts. you made an ASSumption about someone's race based on a name, which further led you to make some really ridiculous comments (based on that incorrect assumption), but the OTHER posters are the racist ones? Translation…YOU make a mistake, but it's everyone else who's wrong?

reminds me of my 6 year old nephew…he gets caught doing something bad, and it's "I hate you, mommy! You're mean!" because she disciplines him.

you wrote, in #59, "anyone who comes to this article does not see "cord jefferson's" name anywhere on the page". But is IS on the page. every post has a "posted by" right at the bottom. I noticed that you made this same complaint in a previous post (and again in #63), and were informed in #52 that it does indeed indicate who wrote it. so just like the "cord is not black" claim, you get corrected and yet still seem to cling to your incorrect claim/assumption. (or, better yet, go with the old conspiracy theory that cord and david hauslaib are THE SAME PERSON!)

as so many here have pointed out, racism can be perpetuated against ANY race. yes, it's (GASP!) true, black people can be bigoted against white people, asian people, etc… and no, not all white people are racists. as someone pointed out, there is no way for the average white person to fully appreciate what the black race has gone through over time, but that doesn't mean they can't want equality and some good role models for black youth. Instead of saying "you wouldn't understand", help me to understand. don't further perpetuate race divisions by saying a white person can't possibly have any idea on how to help the black community.

lgc65 why do you feel white people and black people should be separated? why is ok for a black person to criticize black leaders and not a white person? why dont white people get mad when black people criticize them? our nation will never get any where with people like you trying to separate blacks and whites. we should all be viewed equally and criticized equally no matter what color we are. and fyi i'm half black and half white. would that make it ok for me to criticize black leaders? or am i to far on the other side to do so?

@say what?:

are you cord? and what i said was that "cord jefferson" - the full name - is not on this page anywhere. and it isn't. and you're attempting to correct me, yet another person who doesn't even know what they're talking about and can't comprehend what they're reading here but are trying to explain it to me? post #52 does not say that the person who posts something here is the one who wrote it. the person simply said that "It says posted by Cord at the end of the post, right beside the number of comments." how you got "were informed in #52 that it does indeed indicate who wrote it", out of that, i don't know. as someone who operates a site and visits quite a few blogs, i know that just because someone "posts" something does not mean they wrote it. and as someone who writes, i don't take an "indication" of something as being fact.

you can laugh at my comments all you want but if cord did write the article - he hasn't popped in here to say that he did. matter of fact, david hauslaib never even came out and say that cord wrote it. even on sites like bossip …. i don't know who bit off of who, but someone clearly lacks some creativity and originality - but even on their site - when i used to go to it - they put "bossip staff," at least on some of their postings to show that it wasn't one person who wrote it. it was a collaboration. was that the case here? who knows? cord nor david are giving up any details.

other than that, since you're yet another one who doesn't even know what they're talking about here regarding my reasoning and my statements, i see little else to respond to from your post.

@mike:

mike, this nation is not getting anywhere period, other than continuing to go down the drain economically, morally, and literally. and that's not happening because of "people like me trying to separate blacks and whites." there was separation between black and white, and just-about-every non-white group and whites, long before i was born so it's not rational to put that on me, or "people like me."

it should be clear to all that integration has been a complete and utter failure….. other than in the bedroom … and thus, i am one of those who believes that separation is the only solution to the "race" problem in america. author andrew hacker said it best years ago in "two americas; white and black. separate, hostile and unequal (1992)."

other than that, blacks can criticize who they want and whites can criticize who they want. and "mixed" people can criticize who they want. my point is/was that the day is over when black people allow whites or others to determine for them who black leaders are; and which of them should be respected. whites can criticize min. farrakhan all they want but as i've repeatedly said in here, you'll be hard pressed to find many black people who place much, if any, stock in what white people think of the leaders they respect and love.

and i again say - that were this a post about "jewish leadership" - cord, david and whoever else contributed to this piece would have been labeled anti-semitic a long time ago. also, IF cord wrote this piece, he should be ashamed that he used misinformation - the same misinformation numbers of white people live by - to make his case against min. farrakhan. why doesn't anyone in here care about that? but so many want to harp on my posts? that's the laugh here. maybe that's the white side of cord …. or maybe that was david, the white guy's contribution to this collaborative effort? again, who knows since the 2 culprits aren't divulging any information.

@lgc65:
America has a black president yet integration has failed. wow you sound like what the kkk has been trying to pass on to people. thats a bit ironic dont you think.

we have not failed as a nation. we will fail as a nation if we listen to people like you that feel separation is a solution. we loose if we don't uses all of the resources. if our nation was the way you want it to be which we would discriminate and keep blacks and whites separated then we would lose human resources and our productivity and growth would go backwards. we would be at war with each other.

my father came to this country when he was 11 from Haiti. he learned a new language. he started working at 16 and gave his parents half of his paycheck to help out with the bills. he came from a very poor family. through out his whole like he worked very hard and put him self through school. he is a very intelligent and a well respected black man. he feel like he owes it all to this country because if he would of stayed in Haiti he would be able to make half of what he makes now and he would of never had the same opportunity.

i dont see how it could be harder for any other black man with english as his first language to make something of his or her self in this country. we have a black man for our president but you still feel we are divided. the only thing that separates people is education and class. if you are highly educated black person the world is yours.

if the nations was the way you wanted it to be he would have a much harder time becoming what he is today because education and jobs would be even more limited.

this nation has not failed you have failed this nation.

No. 69 · lgc65

mike, you cannot judge the successfulness or failure of integration by one person. obama may have been allowed to ascend to the highest position in the land but where are the masses of black people at? and then to hear some tell it during this campaign, obama isn't even black … "he's as much white as he is black …" to hear some people tell it. so if that's the case, what do you do with that? obama may be president, and there may be thousands of black elected officials but if you read "black labor, white wealth," by claud anderson, you will soon discover that those numbers of elected black officials have meant nothing as far as achieving any great or noticeable gains in the conditions of blacks collectively. in some categories, the group is in worse condition today than they were in many decades ago.

it's commendable what your father has achieved and i "hear" you and your opinions but i also reject much of them. you say this nation will fail if it "listens to people like me," but the nation is failing now, after having elected someone who ran on the premise that "we're all one people." so what do you do with that? the nation will continue to fail and decline economically and therefore, it would seem that people of good will, especially those who claim to be spiritual, would be more aware of the biblical concept of "separation" as portrayed in the bible. "come out of her my people." america is like the titanic ….. sinking with a gaping hole that obama, nor anybody else is going to fix.

i suppose i can understand that you and others who supported obama are full of "hope" that he can fix the gaping hole, but i'm sure that people who went down on the titanic were full of the same kind of hope, even though it was an exercise in futility.

i disagree with you that the "only" thing that separates people is education and class; the statement is simply false. even obama commented some time last year that (at that time) he was reminded of his blackness anytime he tried to hail a cab. cab drivers bypassing him had nothing to do with his education or class but his skin color … something that still separates people in this society. class and education come into play also but it's delusion to conclude they are the "only" things that cause separation.

lastly, it's your opinion that i have failed this nation but i reject that too. this government and nation have failed a whole lot of folks …. just look at the bailout situations recently. they bail out the big boys and corporations but not the people they claim to serve? and you really, honestly think i failed this nation. again, i laugh and reject that.

@lgc65:
Your asking me where the black people are at. whats stopping them from being out there? what do you expect america to do for them?

integration has failed? thats odd because the last time i watched the news there was a black anchorman and when the went to the seen of the crime there was a black reporter. And when the news went to break there were black people on the commercials. do you know who is the highest paid person on tv? i do and shes black. there seem to be plenty of black lawyers doctors and business owners. there are black C.E.O's and black people seem to top the music charts all the time. would you like me to continue?

my sister worked for a credit company in the sales department. she worked hard and excelled over everybody else there now she a sales teacher for that company. She was even flown from Florida to ny to for 3 weeks to teach the new sales people that were entering the company. now why do you think that is? its because she worked harder than everybody else. it didn't matter that she was a black woman and there were plenty of white men to choose from. my sister even owns her business and shes a mother. she has a big house in a white predominately white community now if America was so raciest towards black people why would they let her buy that house? they let her buy that house because she worked hard to save up money just like all of her neighbors have done. she gets along just fine with everybody in that neighborhood. she lives a better life then plenty of white and black people because she worked really hard to get there.

i dont understand how you can say black people have it so bad. the more qualified black people there are the high positions they will fill. i have seen plenty of people white people get transferred from my job site. yet the keep me a young black guy over them. do you know why that is? its because Ive always had a great attitude towards getting things done and working hard and all of co workers are white. now how is that possible in this raciest country?

my family is living proof that anybody can make it in this county as long as you want to work hard. why is that my family came to this country and has done so well for themselves. why is it that other black Americans cant do the same?

what more do you expect America to do to help black people?

and if you want to support a black owned small business here is my sisters site. its a jewelry business thats getting popular

mike, last words on this. just like you're recommending your sister's site for whoever might want to support it, this is what i recommend for you if you'd like to get a better understanding of the questions you're asking. you can start by reading (with an open mind) "black labor, white wealth: the search for power and economic justice," by claud anderson (1994). that is, if you're really and truly interested in getting a better grasp of the subject you're attempting to comment on. it's quite a bit deeper than the superficial level you're looking at it on.
