Britney Spears won't run out of money any time soon, whether her personal fortune is worth $50 million, at the low end of the rumors, or $125 million at the high end. But the biggest problem to the potential of her future earnings will be, you guessed it, hinged upon her ability to clean her act up.
Unless a corporate brand is willing to write her an multi-million dollar endorsement cheque to capture the publicity it would generate, or an insurer is willing to bond her for tour with for an outrageous premium, Spears' days of heavy earning might be on the wane.
The New York Times today generated more than 1,500 words discussing the topic, which includes Spears' income, like $3 million a year from perfume deal with Elizabeth Arden, to expenses, like $16,000 a month for clothing. (Wearing little costs a lot.) It's all more commentary on the Britney Spears Economy, which the Associated Press has been basking in, and the Times has some catching up to do since publishing a frontpage story on the pop tart in 2002, then deciding she wasn't newsworthy for a few years, and suddenly deciding to cash in on her pageviews.

Not sure why Britney Spears is being compared to Michael Jackson. I don't ever remember Michael Jackson shaving himself bald and having a nervous breakdown in public, repeatedly running over photographer's feet, being strapped to a gurney and taken to the hospital for 72 hour observation, being diagnosed with bipolar disorder or driving around at 70 miles an hour with his kid in his lap. You can't even compare the two. And all this talk over years of Jackson going broke, he's still, as of yet, not broke. Again, I just don't get the comparison.

I'm so agree with Willow said- nothing compare between Michael and Britney! Michael jackson is really okay right now:he is still talented for sure; he's not broken so far; his music is still inestimable, he remains the biggest selling album of all time. I also don't get the comparison!
im glad people have the right idea here. I think its safe to say that Michael Jackson will never be in the poor house just because he jut has way too many things out there. I mean from CD's, DVD's , Merchandise, Royalties, 1/2 of the Beatles catalog, the biggest album in music history( and still growing thanks to his newly released remixed 25th Anniversary edition of Thriller),….honestly i can continue…if worse somes to worse, he sells his Neverland and Beatles catalog and he's a billionare again…and comparing him to Briteny Spears is like comparing the tshirt seller on the street to Da Vinci…thats just stupid…
